Adam Schefter of NFL Network is reporting that the New England Patriots have signed running back LaMont Jordan, a day after he was released by the Oakland Raiders.
Per Schefter, Jordan was also considering signing with the Saints, a team that could be in greater need of another veteran running back if Deuce McAllister’s swollen knee turns out to be serious. Jordan’s deal with the Patriots is a one-year contract. No financial terms have been reported.

They're looking for depth. Getting former starters that still have talent is a pretty good way to get that. Jordan's a former Jet too who can catch as well as run.

For some reason this gets my hair standing. The last ex-Raider on the Patriots was Randy Moss, and you all know how that went. If Jordan shows flashes of his 2005 year, that's not a good thing.

He's an over-rated piece of garbage. Why the Patriots signed him with Maroney, Morris and Faulk, all three better than him, is beyond me. Yes Morris is coming off a knee injury and Faulk MAY be suspeded due to the drugs, but thats 4 games max and Maroney I'm sure could hold down fort for four games, along with Morris.
Jordan blows. Take from a Jets fan who knows. The guy was made to look better because he never carried the ball until the 4th quarter and then when the defense was worn down and tired he'd come and put on a show. Real fans knew he was garbage, racking up 4th quarter yards thanks to Curtis Martin.BwanaZulia and Kanye West like this. -

Jordan looked good taking over after Martin tore down a defense 3 yards at a time but is no starting back and a pour, old, backup.
Maybe he is good a video taping. :)
