Tim Wright is subject to waivers. With 11 TDs over 2 years, that's solid value in June. We'll see who bites.

There has to be a backstory to this, why flatout cut a player who has been productive and gives you depth a month before training camp?

I agree. Something very odd about this. He was just traded for Mankins last year.

Don't question... it's the Patriots... they can do what they want, cut good players, and they'll be better for it.

Sims is our blocking tight end.
Holland is a huge upgrade over McCain

Lack of murders on his stat line?
Headcoach material wouldn’t want to work somewhere they’re not trusted with actual football decisions.

"good te. Could be great. lack of a record really hurt his chances"

Sims would still be #2 if Miami signed Tim Wright.

Literally ZERO way you could know that.

Can Wright play special teams?

Well hopefully we bite. I think he might be able to slide into Clay's role. Maybe provide another nice intermediate target in the middle of the field.
Didn't the Patriots sign some other project player who could play tight end during the offseason? I remember seeing or hearing a headline, just can't remember who it was for the life of me.
Edit: I think this is what I saw:
March 16, 2015Signed TE Scott Chandler.
He was a decent tight end for the Bills so he'll probably be great for the Patsies. Watch him catch an extra 5 or 6 TDs even with a healthy Gronkowski.
Additional edit:
Chandler is apparently making a strong impression early on which is probably why Wright was released.
Oh no not their X-factor.
The Dolphins are the softest team in the NFL. Tua hater starting 12/11/22.
Good bump :D
