To me, it's not that sick. I respect the '72 team more than anything. But, I don't compare them with this team. I am just proud to have been a fan of that team and all those good players we had. I love to talk about it and remember all the things that went one at the time. We also never got the love, press or anything that the stinkin' pats and some other teams have. But, us, oldies but goodies, remember and love our history. And you bet, I want our record saved. It's just part of being an "old fan" I guess.
I also care about the now, even though I did watch the 72 teams play... but the easiest schedule and all in 72, those Phins in the Post Season faced teams that had a combined 32-10 or 0.761 winning %... they won those game by a combined score of 55-38... they were the BEST that year... easy schedule or not...
The overnight rating is higher then the Favres vs Packers, ESPN's new highest rating of all time. Move over Cowboys, looks like the Saints are "America's Team." And they've actually won a playoff game this decade.
that '72 team may have played a weak schedule, but they did have to win the AFC championship game on the road, in pittsburgh. home field advantage rotated in those days. it's not as if they had a cakewalk. also, many of the people associated with both teams actually say that the '73 team was better. that doesn't make '72 any less of an accomplishment, it just is what it is. i don't want the saints to go undefeated, but i was definitely rooting for them last night. that was a good, healthy whipping, which is exactly what i wanted to see after sunday's meltdown.
anybody else here find it funny that belichick will put the pedal to the metal for the whole game if he's winning big (e.g. the deep ball to moss at the end of the jets game is the most recent example) but he pulled brady last night because they were getting schooled?
We win next week, we are only 1 game out... We win out and the pats lose one more, we win the division... its a long shot, but i rather have a long shot then no shot
Thank you so much Dave. It makes me all fuzzy inside to see that team demoralized. Great pics! I hate sounding so mean, but I cannot feel anything but dislike for them and the jests.
A good friend of mine that is a Cowboys friend told me about this today. I didn't see the game. If the score is reversed in the cheatriots favor you can bet on two things; Tammy Brady is still in the game So is Drew Brees. What an absolute classless organization!!!!
right on! what's really funny to me is this: pats fans are defending the move, saying "what if brady had gotten injured trying to come back from 21 down with 5 minutes to go? you just hate the pats, etc." as if it would be different if brady were to get injured trying to throw deep up 21 with 5 or fewer minutes to go, which he seems to do frequently. well, to me, it would be different in one way: it would be hilarious to me if brady were to suffer a serious injury trying to run up the score, whereas it would only be mildly amusing to me if he were to get injured while trying to come back. so there is a difference after all!
