PBP: Jets puzzled/frustrated by 2nd loss to Miami

Colmaxforum_veteranOPEAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The popular expression Sunday in the New York Jets' locker room was that the loss "didn't make sense."
Coach Rex Ryan opened his press conference with the phrase and his players frequently repeated it as they tried to explain how they vastly outgained the Dolphins in yards from scrimmage (378-104) while losing 30-25.
Of course, there really wasn't much mystery. The Jets gave up two touchdowns on length-of-the-field kick returns by Ted Ginn Jr. and another touchdown on a fumble return by linebacker Jason Taylor.
"When (the Dolphins) look at that tape, they know we should have won," defensive end Shaun Ellis said. "Ted Ginn made two unbelievable plays. He single-handedly won the game."
____________________"We totally outplayed them, but got beat," Ryan said. "You have to give their kickoff guy credit."
____________________Linebacker Bart Scott, who had talked last week about his plans to knock Henne out of the game, wasn't gracious in defeat. His sarcasm and frustration were obvious.
"The Dolphins have a great team," he said. "They have a tremendous offense and they showed it today.

The jets got beat twice. We were the better team in both games. We know their pain, we lost to the colts much the same way they lost to us today. But our players didn't try to cheapen the win for the colts. they earned their win. just like we did today.

Amazing the difference between Sparano's interviews and Ryans. Sparano last week goes up there, holds himself accountable, and expects his players to. Ryan, and the jets just ramble on and on and spew out junk that means nothing. Is it any wonder the losses keep piling up for them?

xphinfanxforum_veteranKinda like i felt when we played the Colts. Phins played a good managed game but the score was what counted in the end.

OUR D made the play today, not theirs. and i'll be honest, we won because 378 total yards aint ****! 378 is a very good passing game. its an average offensive game. we made the big time plays, and it was too much for them. i cant wait to see the rest of the league point and laugh at these classless fools.

Well, it doesn’t help what we’re doing on offense, but at the same time we have to come out and play on all phases – special teams, offense, and defense. No let-downs in any phase or this is what can happen. That’s just the way things went today, but those guys will clean it up and they’ve been solid all year. They’ve bailed us out all year, so we just need to come to play in all three phases.

Now that is the "official" line, what the bloggers and reporters heard may have been saltier, but to me Hot Dog is in the clear...so far.

I think the rest of the league already is. The way the Jets and in particular Ryan,Pace,Scott and Rhodes have handled themselves and the losses against Miami has not gone unnoticed. You can see the look and hear the words of some of the commentators as they discuss it. Especially the ex-players.
Like I said before..they are taking their lead from the top..and being a loud mouth excuse making sore loser is the example they are following
