I just found out about this (hey i was running linux for a year so got away from windows for a bit. now i am having sound issues over there -- on linux -- and am now over here --on windows--) and browsing websites. I found out it is possible for you to backup your registry. http://mypchell.com/content/view/20/32/ For those that don't know what your registry is think of it as the file cabinet with your most important documents in it for windows. If you know that your computer is clean of all viruses and malware, etc you should back your registry up somewhere. The link posted will tell you how.
