All i know is I posted about Miami Dolphins players in a polite and civil manner. Just because some other member did not like Marshall and Davis being talked about in a thread originally about Hartline, is not a good excuse to me.
Threads have veered from the original topic since forums were invented. This is the first time I have seen my posts be deleted for it. I could understand if it were to veer completely from football into politics or religion. But we were talking about the Miami Dolphins on a Miami Dolphins forum. That is or should be the bottom line. To zap them because someone did not like seeing posts about Marshall, Davis, etc in a thread originally about Hartline is beyond the pale of acceptable human conduct IMO.
Maybe I have worn out my welcome around here. :pity::angry::sad:

you better stop that crazy talk..there must be a rational explanation, I hope they give you one.

So from now on if I mention someone such as Charles Clay for example in a thread originally about Davone Bess, I have to worry about or expect it to be deleted?????? That's ok with you????

Actually, the article says "sources said the team will finish a deal to pay Hartline just under $7 million per season to keep him with the Dolphins." But here's the kicker: the linked story quotes the purported deal as the familiar "between $6 and $6.5M" amount.

So let's not go gaga over the $7M figure just yet.

23 Pages for hartline hes not worth it hes trash I rather discuss the failed *** vontae trade imo way better topic. That move set us back another 2-3 years seeing how there also going to let smith walk but smith should walk because hes also trash.

So you want to let Hartline walk, even though he's proven he's on the same page with Tannehill, and bring in somebody who could take a year or two to get there? Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.

Inflation or no, a thousand yards is a thousand yards. Keep him and get someone who can get another thousand yards another way.

Really sounds like Hartline wants to be here and keep playing with Tannehill. He wants a fair deal (not sure what that amount is) and sounds like he doesn't expect to take any FA visits, but will if he makes it that far.

About damn time, and that is not too bad a going rate. It's somewhere in between what the fans (and Ireland) had hoped for, and what Hartline's camp had hoped for. Maybe the other 500k to a million is in touchdown incentives, lol.

6M per year is a little higher than I was hoping but it's better than the 7M number that was floating around. Not thrilled with 5 years but who knows how its structured? Could easily be backloaded and essentially be a 3 year deal

It's only two years guaranteed. I am confident Ireland will be fired within that time frame and the new regime will clean house. bad part is we have to wait another couple of poor seasons, but we are used to that, right.

Yeah, that's lower than I was expecting. If that's true, dare I say it, but nicely done FO.

So that's potentially $14.5M already spent from our ~$45M in cap room.

I thought we had $47M and change. That could jump to $54M if we cut Carpenter & Patterson.

And the obligatory 6 million (I believe that's the predicted cost) of the draftees.

That's still a nice chunk to play around with. I do wonder if they'll try and free up some more space by cutting/restructuring a few guys like Richie Inconito, Dimiri Patterson, and Richard Marshall. I don't think anyone of those 3 is so good that you'd really feel a major sting if they weren't back; Patterson and Marshall weren't even active a total of half the season combined.

Can we please cut Carpenter? He's drastically overpaid for being what he is and that's an average field goal kicker

Did you factor in Starks $8.5M or so franchise tag? Have to subtract that from the initial amount.

I'd say that's worst case. We still have no idea how much Hartline will cost this year? It may be all backloaded

If that's the case, I think the number was around $44M, but he's right in that Miami can free up more money by releasing Incognito, Patterson, Marshall, and Carpenter. Of those four, Patterson may be one to consider restructuring, though Miami doesn't have a track record of trying to do that to my knowledge.

Not only unhealthy....he's daft to. Ireland won't be fired in the next year. Because he's in the final year of his contract ;p He'll either not be renewed or he'll be renewed. Only 2 options.

I used to think Tim Ruddy had some racy pix of Wayne Huizenga he was using to blackmail the team and keep his job all those years despite being no better than mediocre. Now I wonder the same about Carp and the pix he must have of Ross. :shifty:
