this is about the 4th or 5th time it happened. she is dead asleep, curled up in her bed. every time its real early in the morning like 4am.
she yells and cries. its not a meow really like she is in pain. something different. the first time i thought maybe she was just scared or something but she is not awake
i wake her up and she is fine. starts purring lol
health wise, she seems fine. our cats live pretty cushy comfortable lives lol. and its not like she is having flashbacks of vietnam or something lol
was it a cat nightmare? could it be a health issue of some sort?

My cats do that too, just not as loud. It’s just cat dreams. Not a big deal, at least not with my cats.

haha you got some crazy kitties there bro
seriously though, if it appears to be affecting her outside of the dream realm, I would get it checked out, otherwise it's likely just nightmares.
I mean, I cry all the time in my sleep, wake up sometimes and the pillow is drenched in tears---- errr.... i mean.. nevermind. i've never heard of that before
EDIT: I felt this was also somehow appropriate:

Probably cat dreams or nightmares. My dog back then would be asleep and go into convulsions (body, face) that would seem like it was a bad thing but it was just her dreaming. I'd shake her to wake her up and she'd be fine.

My dog sometimes cries when asleep.
Doggy Dreams.
