I don't see it happening. At a little over 6'2", and 215 lbs, Andy Dalton doesn't come close to fitting the Dolphins size standards. He fits a lot of the other criteria the Dolphins have, but they know that one of their mistakes with Pat White was that they went against their philosophy with him, which is he didn't fit their size standards. I don't see them taking Andy Dalton, who is a virtual clone of John Beck - who this regime dumped in favor of Chad Henne.

One thing is becoming apparent...with all the effort being done to scout these QBs and with no 2nd round pick, it "appears" a new QB is the order of the day in the 1st round. I think Henne's contract status is another factor in this overall situation.

As for who they are targeting, I think you have to look at past experience. They did draft Henne after apparently targeting Flacco. I'm sure they would like somebody with some mobility but won't sacrifice passing skills to get this. The closest first round QB in the mold of Henne/Flacco is Mallett. Starting to really hope we make a move to get this guy.

The only thing that keeps me from going "all in" on Ryan Mallett is the drugs stuff. Yes, he has admitted it, but I am very concerned that it could end up being a problem that rears its head in the NFL at some point. With that, my other concern is whether he will eschew the party social life and spend that time in the film room. That's what I want out of my quarterback. From a pure passing standpoint, this is the guy I want. He could be the next Drew Bledsoe, IMO. But damn, thinking about his off the field stuff is going to give me an ucler.
