He did, but you can't have your coach taking care of another AD employee's fiancee and hiring her on to be some form of personal assistant and pay her $60k and not expect trouble. Bottom line, Petrino cut his own bag once he didn't accept their terms to stay on board. And since the termination was for cause, they don't owe him a dime.

This was technically some kind of recruiting coordinator job, which to me sounds like was setting his mistress up to go on the road with him. Supposedly he got her $20K up front, under the table. University money. I'm not interested in what people do in their private lives, nor is it my business. But rigging the hiring process and misuse of university money is no bueno. Good for Falcons fans. They get a small measure of satisfaction at this jerk for doing them dirty, and the university for stealing their coach. We can relate.
