for a guy many on these boards..... some in the medical profession...... said he'd NEVER be able to play this year and maybe never again.

    Loved Chris Collinsworth's comment.....
"I don't know how Mannings kneck is but his brain in top form because he's picking this defense apart"

    Same old Manning.

I'll be a Broncos fan this year hoping he stuffs it to the Colts.

Well, Dan Marino had a great first game too. His season still turned out pretty bad. I would wait and see how things turn out over the course of the season.

The brain work wasn't even all that crazy either. Just counting numbers in the box and playing leverage. Vintage Peyton Manning.

As for his arm strength, the throw into the Field to Brandon Stokley (I believe) proved it all, no? Same throw he made to Demaryius Thomas in week one of the preseason against the Chicago Bears. Only difference was Thomas ran a comeback.

The window is closing in Pittsburgh.
I had to laugh when Manning's team mate Tracy Porter jumped the route and took Ben back for six.
    Irony?

Hey remember when like 3/4ths of the board didnt want Peyton and wanted Alex Smith? Or thought Flynn would be better then Manning? I think all this losing has affected some peoples ability to think :(

It was obviously because of his injury.

It was good to see Peyton play well. Always been a big fan of his, and always will be. Just wish he was wearing aqua and orange. That said, it looks like he made the right decision not to come here. Hope he continues to play at a high level because he's just fun to watch.

If I were a Colts fan I'd be pretty pissed off today. The Colts could have kept Manning, traded the #1 pick for a king's ransom, and still could have drafted one of the 5 rookie QBs that started week 1.

Peyton Manning is still the man. And KB21 is still wrong about grading QBs. I remember all those posts about how he was an expert on the cervical spine and how Manning was DONE. Looks like Manning didn't get the memo.

I agree. That Colts roster sucks. Even Manning couldn't take that team deep into the playoffs.

Some players you just learn to have more faith in then others. Peyton Manning: great player obviously loves football and wants to play. Yes you take that chance. Mediocre player X: Not sure if he loves it or plays for the money, not sure of his work ethic..no you dont take that chance.

I disagree. Not with his type of injury. It was too risky. I don't care who the player is.

I hopePeyton recovers. I still think his neck and nerve will prove an unpredictable, intermittent problem from here on out. I said his career is over... And now I am not sure.

Hope I'm wrong and he plays five more years.

Peytons second game didn't look so good the Falcons D picked him numerous times. Now he is facing Houston at Houston this week. Denver has a tough schedule.
