http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/10/18/chiefs-willing-to-trade-anyone-but-cassel/ Reason Im posting this is because truth is we would love Dwayne Bowe in Miami, and we have made three seperate trades with KC this year already. We traded during the Draft, We traded them Ndukwe & Alleman and the latest was Thigpen to Miami. The Cheifs would love to get OLB help and Roth could be traded before 4 O clock Tuesday. Roth clearly is not in our future plans and we need some Firepower at Reciever. So, boy & girls Im not saying to expect something to get done. But it can happen. Another team I could see Miami trading with is Oakland who are having a fire sale and Parcells is very good friends with the Ole Crypt Keeper. After all we showed tons of interest in Raider FA this season already.
I agree, I would think they only want draft picks and maybe some young cheap unproven potential up and comers
Well they are building a 3-4 Defense, and are doing with out the proper talent. Roth played OLB really well last year, so you would think they could be interested.
If the Chiefs manage to win today, deals are more likely to be made. As for us acquiring anyone...not seeing it...not unless it is an absolute firesale price.
right, but I'm sure they have some pieces in place already. So if they are getting rid of everyone that tells me they want to get young and start over. Not that they just want to establish a type of defense if that makes sense.
i'm just not seeing the 'Roth' doesn't fit into our plans ... he very much was slated to be the SOLB, until he couldn't go -- anyone who thinks JT was the primary option is kidding themselves .... and kidding yourself if you think he will last all season -- as a WOLB, maybe, but he is out of position as a SOLB. in his defense, we are making due ... but that is all we are doing there ...
Which is exactly what makes me think Roth won't go anywhere. Don't get me wrong, if we can get Bowe for a 3rd, I think we would do it.....I just personally don't think Roth is going anywhere.
KC is on the verge of winning their first game of the season, imho that makes trades more likely, no team wants 0-16, every rebuilding team wants high draft picks.
I would give a 2nd for Bowe. But if not Bowe, we should make a run for Cribbs still. He was bigtime against pitsburgh
Roth can not be traded because he will not be off the PUP until after the the trade deadline. You are not allowed to trade players that are on the PUP.
He certainly defends his half of the field well, and was getting rave reviews before he hurt himself extra curricular and the questions began. He has promise, I want him to return healthy and back on the learning curve.. apply all that stuff you did in shorts to your play Mr. Roth and make it worth the wait.
Thing is I just don't think Cassel is all that. Think we may have already acquired the best QB they had rostered in Thigpen. I also doubt we make a move for Bowe. But, at this point...I'd gladly give up a 2nd for him. Dude is a beast.
It's likely just a tease but if Bowe is available, I hope we're aggressive. Opportunities to grab a young, developed, play making WR are rare for a good reason.
Right, it would cost at least a 1st rounder IMO. Though that wouldn't stop me from offering a 2nd and 4th (or even a 2nd and Cam, and for the record I think Cam is our most dependable WR right now).
I wouldn't part with any of our top 3 WR's....I think he's easily worth our first round pick, probably more.
Bowe is easily worth a #1 pick, or a 2 and a 3. Which is why Bowe is not coming to Miami, I'm warming up to maybe Derrick Johnson because we need a nickel Lb badly, but he would be cheap to acquire.
I agree. KC would be crazy to give Bowe away for anything less than a 1st. Anyone who thinks Bowe can be had for only a 2nd or only a 3rd and marginal player are just kidding themselves. This is a true redzone #1 WR target here who produces on a bad team. And the kid's just turned 25 years old. I'd say KC will be basing any type of trade for Bowe on the Roy Williams trade rather than the Braylon Edwards trade.
Bowe had a good game today with 6 receptions for 109 yards. The kid to me is worth a 2nd or 3rd rd pick. We still have Free Agency and the Draft. We would go to the draft with a 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th & two 7th rd picks. That is five picks. Which Im fine with, especially if there is no cap next year and we can spend
