Wow Massaquoi, Tate, and Williams all ahead of Nicks? Pat White ahead of Stroughter, Collie, and Barden. A very interesting list none the less.
That's a different list than others would make, lol. Still not buying the hype in Jeremy Maclin and Derrius Heyward-Bey. Yes they have potential to be good players but thiss is the wide receiver rankings and they're nowhere near the top in my opinion. Maclin has ran about as many routes on the tree as I have while Heyward-Bey is very inconsistent and very raw. Derrick Williams is a good player IMO but I don't rank him ahead of Nicks. If I ranked a few of the players, I'd probably put Hakeem Nicks at the top with Crabtree second and then Britt third. Odd you may consider it because Crabtree isn't at the top but right now, Hakeem Nicks is the better receiver. He's a superior route runner. I'd rank Mike Thomas much higher than that. Yes he's small but he's very productive and a helluva slot receiver.
The major college sleeper WR could well be Mike Wallace, Ole Miss. He ran nearly as fast as Heyward-Bey and has a lot of the same physical traits. Was a fine deep threat in college, and KOR, but isn't rated nearly as high in the draft. I think I will amalgamate him into my next mock draft.
Is that really a word? I would add Quan Cosby to that list my friend. That kid is very solid, and reminds me of Bess with more talent. Would love to land either in a later pick
Brandon Tate is rated way to highly, he is coming off a ACL and never ran a 40, he wasn't that highly thought of pre injury was he? I like Murphy from Florida as a sort of sleeper, but Nicks...man he could be Boldin redux.
Yes it is. Tate was rising up boards and would probably hold a late second round/top third round grade. He was averaging over 20 yards per reception and was the NCAA leader in all purpose yardage as he returned kicks and punts. He is over 6' and can run pretty well in the open field. He provided a solid outlet other than Nicks and would have been fairly highly though of IMO. I liked him a great deal.
