yeah you can see the jockeying for position going on right now.
Awww shucks, looks like you'll have to wait a few more weeks. And if we make the playoffs? What a disaster...
I disagree. Ross is the owner, he doesn't give a rats *** what Shefter, LaCanfora or any of the other gossip columnists have to say. Only fans form their opinions off what they see on ESPN, twitter, etc. In 20 years I have never seen a fan base so clueless as to what's going on from the team's perspective.
I hope we do.
Looks like we will be tied for the 6th spot after today.
In 2011 we were 0-7 and out of it by mid October. Last year we were playing out the string in December. This year we are probably in it till the last week. That's what progress looks like, and all people want to talk about is who should be fired.
You have an odd definition of progress, and some extremely low standards accompanying.
I think GMJohnson may actually be Armando, because he's the only person I know that can irrationally support what Jeff has done in Miami. And that's only because Jeff is likely Armando's only source in Miami right now.
Again, what I'm saying has nothing to do with any of that.
Ross has already gushed over Philbin of late. If this report is accurate, it would likely strengthen that affinity. Which thereby increases his chances of remaining the head coach. This is a simple and logical view IMHO.
You can mock the fanbase if you wish. But it's not as if this franchise has been a beacon of logic and success the last 10 years. Perhaps you're right. A lot of times I have no idea what this team is thinking.

Shouldn't you be in the Mike Wallace thread apologizing?
For yet another poor personnel acquisition by Jeffy? Nah.
they're just setting up the dominoes for jeff irelands exit
It wouldn't surprise me if Stephen Ross has already told Jeff that he will not be back.
Thats the disconnect I'm referring to. There is no need for reports that strengthen Philbin's hand bc Philbin was never in danger of losing his job in the first place. Ireland has already been extended for 2014.
Its like the Twilight Zone in here.
Tony Sparano was extended through 2012 in 2011.....it tells me a lot that Jeff got a one year extension that will in no way keep this team from firing his tail, especially since it is beyond obvious that Jeff and Joe are not on the same page when it comes to personnel.
You guys do know that we won...right?
Sparano was extended as a PR move AFTER the team was caught trying to interview his replacement. Slight difference there.
Good thing Jeff Ireland was hired in 2011. Apparently, progress is how late in the season you collapse to a 7-9 record.
Unfortunately we have members who would rather lose and be right than win and be wrong.
The information being, "none".
Reggie Bush wasn't lighting anything on fire here and he was being well paid. He was also approaching the wrong side of 30 years old and that same GM had drafted two runners he really liked in Daniel Thomas and Lamar Miller. In the words of Drew Rosenhaus, "next question".
