This is GREAT NEWS... Link: http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...sweblog+(Miami+Dolphins+|+Sun-Sentinel+Blogs)
Noooooooooooo Too..much..Clemson..stank! Do not have two Clemson guys on the same unit, that causes a increase in the reaction of "suck" to near thermal nuclear proportions...
Merling doesn't help us or contribute if he happens to get back on the field. He wasn't very good before the injury
he wasnt bad either. he was just kinda eh but considering we drafted odrick i think he knows his time is short to prove himself. you never know
Ryan Baker and a some practice squad call ups are not as good as Merling, I will give the man that much, I like Baker but he is not as productive as Merling is on a bad day. My worry is crossing the streams of "under achieving" with Merling and Clemons, one disappears and is 320 pds, the other could not catch a pillow if it landed in his hands drenched in stickum.
Nope, they came to a compromise on "girlfriends".... which is a good choice b/c fetuses can't defend themselves.
I can say he is a big slower guy coming off an achilles injury. You have to wonder if Phillip is in shape
well thats interesting. could be a nice boost to the DL, which has been pretty good this year as it is
Good news for our D-line. He might not help right away, but he can flash just as well as anyone on that line.
I just dont see how a guy that doesnt have the best work ethic in the world is going to be in any type of shape to play football and be productive coming off an injury. Just dont see it.
I'm not going to proclaim Merling didn't lay a hand on his girlfriend (though he may not have), he most certainly didn't beat her. If he beat her, she'd have been in the hospital or worse.
He doesn't have to be on the active gameday roster yet, and aside from that, he was in his best shape yet this offseason as I recall.
He's been a perfect citizen since the charge. The Dolphin's could use any help they can get. Hopefully this will start a wave of good news for them.
Read this story before and it usually ends with the guy re-injuring himself or causing injury to another body part typically due to overcompensating.
Well, if this is our version of a Roethlisberger deal where the guy by all accounts truly seems changed, Welcome back. But one thing that I find interesting is that I remember Skid Rosenberg saying something on the radio (my old man listens to him) when I was in the truck and he was saying he thinks we overplayed Merling's injury to get some heat off of him so he could get his life etc, straightened out. Lest we forget Marshall also had the spectre of domestic violence hanging over his head. Under the condition of serious changes I wanna see how this plays out.
Not true. Its like when your parents smacked you when you were bad, they did it to scare more than hurt. Not saying he did or didn't hit her, but you can't say she would have been in the hospital if he did.
This is good, in hopes that the kid did some growing up as a result of a humiliating arrest, and a bone-headed injury to boot! Merling, it's now or never for you to prove yourself.
I thought he was injured while working out on his own, preparing for camp. Even if he didn't it's not like he slipped on a McDonald's bag and fell through his glass coffee table or something.
Obviously there will be a severe rust factor. Here's the thing. First you get into good physical condition, then you get into football shape. And the only way to do that is to practice and play. I'm hoping he's at least in good shape. That can be difficult for a big man with a leg injury. But you hope he took it all seriously, got his head right, rededicated himself to his profession and stayed in Nolan's playbook.
get him on the field ASAP..See if he can flash some talent, than see if you can move him for a 3rd or 4th...if you can't, make him live in the gym to completely change his body, if he doesn't abide, cut his fat lazy jerk ***..
I hold very little hope that he'll be any good or make an impact. And that small bit of hope is purely tied to the CLAIMS from players and coaches that he was having his best mini camps ever before he suffered the Achilles. However, you ALWAYS have to take that type of report with a huge grain of salt, less we start electing guys like Derrius Thompson to the Ring of Honor. But seriously, he is: 1. Definitely not in football shape, 2. Probably not in shape PERIOD, 3. Coming off an injury that tends to take two years not 6 months, 4. Not that good to begin with.
This week Miami gets Phil Merling back, and the Titans sign Marques Douglas. They got the better player.
Let's not hate on Clemons. Sure, he's dropped two sure interceptions, one that became a touchdown - but he's at least getting into position to make the plays in his first year as a starter. Not bad!!
