Quick Recap: TOTALLY SUCKED!!!!!!! It was cool to see Cam and he was pretty good, but absolutely nothing about the team. Practically nothing about the draft!! Pssh! We really got the short end of the stick as far as the commentators go. Only Dukes, Sapp and that Flannigan chick. Horrible group. I was hoping it would be Lombardy, Mayock or Casserly. You can't even talk with the guys tonight. You just get bombarded and swamped with a loud, ebonics filled rant. Did you ever see Casserly on that "Round Table" show with Dukes, Sanders and Sapp? Oh man. Poor Casserly. It's hilarious. He couldn't even get a whole sentence in during the entire program. Anyway, quick hits: - They showed clips of Wake at the Pro-Bowl. They showed Belichik talking to him and Belichick said something like; "I won't say anything about the Dolphins". It was hard to hear, but I think that's what he said. - They asked him if he was upset about how they finished. He said not really. That they had a New D coordinator and a new new LB coach and they started doing some really good things and will continue to get better. - He really likes Nolan. He said that Nolan's biggest strength is putting his players in position to make plays and using a players strengths, etc. - He said the D's weak spot is 'consistency". - Didn't mention much at all about the O. He said that again, we need consistency on O. He mentioned that we got some new guys on O. Dukes said: "Let's face it..it's Pouncey", which was pretty stupid. They then didn't even talk about Pouncey and absolutely no mention of anyone or anything about our draft. The questioning was incredibly weak and ignorant, imo. ..VERY!!! They said we did not take a QB and Wake said Henne doesn't plan on changing, which I thought was weird. I guess he was saying that Henne is confident. - They showed some clips of plays by Wake: He blew past the bears tackle and nailed Cuter. - They showed how he absolutely overpowered and bull rushed the Jets tackle right into the QB. - They showed his great speed when he got around the edge to sack Rodgers. They than did some of that stuff on their little artificial field. where they had him show some of his technique. That was pretty cool. They showed his classic move which is to first push the defender back, then "dip and rip"under the player and rush the QB. He and Sapp said that's much better than the typical swim move, which keeps you more upright and "puts you on your back", as Cam said. It was good and made a lot of sense. - They talked about the Top 100 player thing. (see? lame, lame questions). he said he likes Troy Polamalu. Sapp disagreed and talked about Ed Reed. (pointless convo) That's the gist. Again the questioning REALLY sucked. Really small time and weak!!! Very disappointing, but I'm still just a fiend for any national TV Phin coverage. The most disappointing thing was there absolutely no real talk of our draft. Just that on little blurb about Pouncey, but they didn't even talk about him. They just mentioned him. NOTHING on anyone else. Oh well. Like I said; it would've been much better had one of the other guys I mentioned hosted.
