Coyle, in his 19th year as a draft analyst, said the Dolphins, who currently have the Nos, 12, 43 and 74 picks, need to get more impact players in the top-100 this time around.
“My philosophy is when you’re getting three of the top 100, the top 80, they have to be starters,” Coyle said, “even if a guy is a nickel corner because those players are on the field so much.”
Cornerbacks Vontae Davis (No. 25) and Sean Smith (No. 61) played a bunch, while quarterback Pat White (No. 44) was a situational player, who got a few snaps a game.
Rookie wide receiver Patrick Turner (No. 87) played in two games and didn’t make a catch.
