What an awful call on the fade. The play before, Ronnie was dancing all around, trying to get around defenders. A great basketball trainer once said that if your not going north and south, your not making much progress. That applied to Brown on that little dumpoff at the 4:35 mark. ;)

Yeah! True and what about that TD pass to Martin? That was a thing of freakin' absolute beauty! He snaps it then within a couple of seconds, takes a few steps back, scans the field, plants and throws into heavy coverage, just over the defender's heads, right into Martin's hands, perfectly in stride. It was just perfect. Thank God for Penny and Martin has really turned it on in the last few weeks or so. =)

Watched it earlier and watching it again now and that fade route of 4th down may have been the worst call of the season. Another thing is the reluctance to run between the tackles if there was a week they were going to be successful running the ball last week was the time to do it. 8 carries for Ronnie isn't enough but that topic is like beating a dead horse.

Is it just me or is Branden Albert the last guy off the line every snap?

EDIT: Looking at Albert's game log, he's allowed 4 sacks to the quicker pass rushers (Julius Peppers, John Abraham, Elvis Dumervil).

Haven't paid much attention to him but will on the next drive.

Satele should wear a visor if he is going to use that face mask. He is asking for someone to poke him in the eye.

Yeah! and there's got to be something going on regarding Brown that they're not letting people know. It's probably because of the knee injury, but we're winning and he's been a big part of our success this year, so I'm cool.with it. ...to beat the dead horse a bit more. =D

He is by far the last guy off the line. You'd think he would get beat more often.

Well, looking at him, he does when the pass rusher he's going up against has a quick first step. What separates him from other Tackles that are slow out of their stance is the fact that he has an impressive wingspan (35 1/2 inch wingspan), enabling him to control defenders, and he has good technique. He slides his quick feet very well and has the flat back.

He looks like a monster out there and handled Porter with relative ease. The last draft was loaded with great tackles with Jake Long, Jeff Otah, Ryan Clady and Brandon Albert.

Absolutely. And the thing about him is from what I've read, he's had only 5 years of organized football coming into this year. That's not much but he's impressive. If he didn't have the long arms, he'd be a Guard, which he originally was. He could have fit in at Guard or Tackle because he pulls really well from the little I watched when he came out. Clady has looked very good as well, displaying great upper body strength and sliding his feet. We know about Jake already but I haven't keyed in much on Otah, then again, I haven't seen much of Carolina.

Yeah. The play at the end when Ricky fumbled was a pretty bad call also, not as bad as the fade, but still pretty bad. We should have run the time off the clock and then kicked a field goal. We're lucky the fumble wasn't returned for a TD. Ricky was down on that play by the way. BS call IMO.

I think Otah has been pretty good, but I believe he's playing on the right side now.

Yeah Otah is on the right side now with Gross on the left side. Gross is a free agent after this season and if they can't re-sign him I think they will move Otah over to the left side.
