I've heard he isn't the hardest working guy on the team... but, I have no link to back that up.

 

Being critical of someone's work ethic doesn't necessarily mean you hate them, ya know... lol...

And again, "doing a lot of work on his own" is part of the problem. He doesn't need to be working out alone. He needs to be in Tannehill's pocket. They both have things to clean up and make better and they can only do that together.

 

Yes, and I've never read anything specific about Philbin having issues with Matthews either, just that Philbin and Sherman "weren't happy" with his ability to learn the entire offense. Sherman alluded to him "sleepy eyed" as though he wasn't applying himself. The guy has the physical abilities, but if he is a slow study, that may be the issue... with Landry now part of the team, it'll be interesting to see what happens with him.
