Dont know about this guy, it just came in on my app. Miami acquired LB Stephon Anthony from the Saints for a undisclosed pick in 2018.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...phins-acquire-lb-stephone-anthony-from-saints Just now. Traded for an undisclosed 2018 pick. And we play the saints in week 4 in London...should be interesting. I wonder what that means for Timmons. Might be gone gone.

Damn I almost got my first news breaking thread in after years on this forum..i should have known ur fingers are just too quick! Lol
Yup, he doesn't appear to be a guaranteed starter. 1st round draft pick that played well in his rookie year, spotty performance last season. The Saints were expected to cut him in training camp this year as he struggled...not sure this pick makes a lot of sense.
Since Timmons is suspended, do you think he can be more productive than him? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I mean by default the practice squad is more productive than Timmons right now....heck Anothony would be more productive for us still on the saints considering neither would touch the field and one is causing a huge distraction to the team lol. I was really excited about the Timmons signing too. He looked really good in preseason.
Fifth round pick headed back to The Saints. Will be interesting in two weeks when the two teams meet in London, I suppose.
If Burke can coach him up, not worried about it. I've read he's "injury prone" from fan Twitter feeds. Some are like, "wtf?", others are "meh". Before we get all worked up, let's see if the kid works out. Wouldn't be the first time in the NFL a person does well on another team, and it won't be the last. FWIW, the Saints are a HOT mess right now, and kind of have been for a while. A change might just be what this kid needs. Right now, regardless of who the kid is, we need LBs. I trust the coaches until proven otherwise. Welcome to Miami new LBer!
Posted this in the other SA thread... He was a stud for the Saints at Mike under Rob Ryan. Dennis Allen moved him to SAM, and he's struggled to the point of being cut. Anthony's rookie season in the Middle, he had 112 tackles, 5 TFLs, 1 sack, 1 INT, 2 FFs, 1 fumble recovery, and 5 PDs. I'd take that.
I like this move. He's most likely better than whatever we'd spend the 5th on anyways, plus the fact i keep an open mind on any young talent coming from the trainwreck called the "Saints Defense"
Could be the 2nd solid that Irish has done us since he's joined the Saints. The first being Kenny Stills.
He was a 1st round pick who had a very good rookie year. The Saints moved him to SLB and he had a down year last season. He's fast and can cover TE's very well. He has the skills to be coached up. IMO, he's way more than a body.
Different DC and defense when he was drafted. Not sure he has the intellect or instincts to be great, but should be a clear athletic upgrade over Hull in a few weeks.
