http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/29/business/economy/29econ.html What a devastating loss to those who bought a home in Phoenix right near the peak......
But what a market for buyers!!! My wife and I bought a brand new house which is roughly 2,600 sq ft for only 130 grand.
Yeah, screw you all!!! And does anybody wanna buy a nice house in Tucson....I promise the price is right....
there is lot of good deals in Phoenix area if you are willing to look. The houses around here at 1,200 sq ft are selling for around 70 to 80 grand and all the house are brand new. There is a development in Casa Grande that are selling houses around 1,300 sq ft for 95 to 105k and all houses comes with swimming pool so that is nice.
Problem with that is you have to live in Coolidge or Casa Grande.... Both of which are pretty much directly in the middle of nowhere, with no revenue aside from growing tumbleweed gardens
Both developments I mentioned are about 2 to 5 mins from I-10 and it is about 35 to 40 mins drive to Phoenix so it is not that bad. I work in my home so it is wonderful for me.
Trust me, I know both areas pretty well, and in fact have several friends in Casa Grande. I guess I do have to agree. Either locale is exponentially better than living in Phoenix BTW: Are you considering rush hour in that time estimate? HUGE difference depending on what time of day you are driving it
