I'm a complete moron when it comes to this stuff, but my wife got a new Mac with the intentions of continuing to do photo and video editing... she's an amateur at best. But when I was getting ready to order her CS6, I saw all this new CC crap. What's the big differences and which direction should I go for her? She was previously on CS5.

So basically the 50$ a month gets you all the products on the table? I'm guessing they're essentially the same programs... but the 50 bucks a month does add up, even paying for the upgrades for just CS6 it wouldn't add up to the monthly payment. Are the additional program worth it, or could they be worth it if she put in the time to learn more? Or just stick to CS6 in your opinion?

If you just dabble, I recommend CS6.
Hell I'm still using CS6 because I like that version so much.305 likes this. -
FinD... is the Photoshop CC Desktop App the same as just Photoshop? That's only $20 a month... 10 bucks if I can find her old serial number haha

The programs are more or less the industry standard in just about every discipline. To be honest, I don't even know if they'll be offering them outside of the CC anymore. There's nothing wrong with the CS5 versions she has, I'd stick with them. -

As a linux/Open Source guy, I'd say that if want something similar without paying Adobe, check out the GIMP for free. It's one of the ones I use for graphics...

For vector art, there's also the open source InkScape.

I like to use inshot pro app for editing. This is my favorite app for editing photos and videos. But I use this app only on my android. I hope in future, I use photoshop for editing. Because I don't have PC :(

I use CC for work. So obviously I don't have to pay. I've been using Photoshop for over 20 years, so the incremental changes have not been noticed by me.
Photoshop is Photoshop. Having a copy of 6 is fine. Heck I have a CS3 on my personal PC, the only problem is using it for inDesign, but for Photo Editing it's fine.
