Wires got crossed I guess. I figured Phil posted this up. He figured I did. Between the two of us, it sat for 24 hours without any promo. Sorry bro!!

The amazing thing about this season, for me, isn't that Miami is 2-2, but that they're one bonehead 4th-and-forever breakdown from being 3-1. Nevertheless, in two straight games, the Dolphins have beaten the two best teams in the AFC from last season.

Gus Johnson, the high priest of hyperbole, proclaimed "the Dolphins are BACK!" after Sunday's win over the Chargers. Two of the guys I was watching the game with (we'll call them "turd" and "punch bowl" for the time being) proclaimed that such a statement was ridiculous. At first, I didn't want to get too carried away over a 2-2 football team. But the more I thought about it, I thought, "hey, why the hell not?"

Not that the previous regimes set the bar all that high....

Still, they drafted three legit starters (Long, Merling, Langford), another that will likely become one next year after spending his rookie year on IR (Thomas), and yet another that could turn out to be Miami's best QB since Marino retired (Henne; although again, not a very high bar).
