Has anyone else watching general NFL games seen this as a trend? Basically, ball is underthrown and the reciver tries to run through the trailing defender to get back to the ball and draws the PI.

I don't recall this really happening much in seasons past, but I seem to see it at least 1-2 times every game now, almost like offenses have noticed and are now intentionally underthrowing balls to draw penalties.

    I hate it.

It certainly seems to happen more these days than it used to. Even after the DPI rules were changed in the early 2000s, the defender needed to actually do something purposeful to draw the flag most of the time, and those kind of incompletions would just be let go.
