Vern Carey, that durability makes him worth the money.

My preference:
Critical, difficult to replace:
OT Carey (he's very solid/healthy/versatile, even if not ProBowl-caliber.
Not sure Jordan Gross will be worth breaking the bank for.
Carey will be pricey, but good Tackles are worth their weight in gold (almost - ha)).
CB Goodman (he came on very strong, and is playing very solid.
Age is slight concern, but free agent CBs are a thin group this year.
We should draft CB to groom as replacement, but get 2 more years from Goodman as starter 2009/nickel 2010).
SS Bell (he's a solid player; injury-prone woes hopefully behind him; based on 2008 play, it's worth it to sign him for 2-3 more years).
Important, but not the end of the world:
LB Crowder (despite some fans' opinions otherwise, he's a solid LB.
Not a playmaker/ProBowl LB, but solid.
We could certainly do much worse.
I'd re-sign him at a fair price, and draft/groom replacement for him/Adoyele.
If he commands top-dollar elsewhere, so be it.)
Only if the price is right:
FS Hill (He is adequate as a starter.
Great as depth/special teams.
Sign him to new deal if price is right for this role).
