http://www.rotoworld.com/content/Home_NFL.aspx Free agent Plaxico Burress has reportedly told "people" that he would "love" to play for the Dolphins once his legal problems clear up. The Fins aren't rumored to have interest, but the nearby Buccaneers are. Burress will be in court to face felony gun possession charges on June 15. Thoughts?
I think we're going with what we have, we only have so many roster spots. Then when you factor in his attitude and legal problems, I'll pass.
I don't think that the coaching staff would appreciate Plaxico always skipping meetings and being late to them. If I remember correctly, he had over forty or fifty during his time in New York. Further, him speaking his mind from time to time wouldn't settle well here. He's a dam good receiver though.
Brother as this team gets younger, I don't see this type of veteran as role model for our younger players.
I'd welcome him but their isn't any room. The receiver position is overloaded as it is. I don't think he will be going to prison either.
Yea, he'd love to play anywhere...but don't want him here. One the field, he's fine, but unfortunately the games end eventually and he goes elsewhere. Usually to do something he probably shouldn't. I doubt that he would suddenly be the guy who shows up on time, does what he's told, doesn't speak to the media without the OK of the staff, and doesn't get in trouble late night at the clubs (South Beach would most likely make this problem worse). Just say no to Plax, not on your teeth, not on your team!
Not here, not now, not ever. Parcells had enough with T.O., there's no way he brings in Plax. Not a chance.
Normally I would avoid players like him but if the Dolphins are going to compete they need more firepower on offense. He's the type of player that would go well with Pennington. I think his ability is better suited to what we need than Boldin's. 1 year, incentive contract is all he should expect to get right now and that should be very appealing to management.
unless Coughlin would give him a ringing endorsement (not likely), this FO wouldn't even consider it ...
I think if he went to the phins it will be considered a major waste of 3rd and 4th round picks on WRs
Just heard Chris meyers talk about it on the radio, spent about 5 mins saying that parcells and sparano would make him play the RIGHT way, and if he didnt, they would ship him and his shot leg outta town.
Can't someone just merge this into all the Boldin threads. I understand the curcumstances are completely different, but I just want to find my laughs in one place without searching ALL the forums..... hehe
Dolphins aren't interested http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolp...rress-not-getting-his-wish-with-dolphins.html
I Do Too! LOL Who wouldn't want to play w/ the PHINS!!! A talented WR but getting up there in years. Not so sure I would bring him onboard when there is other talents out there. I mean he may have another good year in him but what does that really do for a team. Of course the legal troubles over the years; seems there is a trend. Not good for business. The PHINS don't need the headache as they are building a top notch team! I say let the Jets or Bucs have him.
