I never said you stated it. I said following the logic that lead you to your conclusion, then you HAVE to think if he made the kick and we won, then we didn't deserve it. There is no other way to look at it applying your stance and still be logical.
Welcome to first place Miami Dolphins! Sure we are tied with the Patriots and Jets (and the Bills too if they win), but its a good feeling nonetheless
I don't think any one player was essentially the reason for any loss. A key contributor or more visible reason maybe but not the sole reason. the game is a team game and all that play contribute for a win or a loss.
nevermind I just figured out they were playing the pats and you are talking about the AFC East. I was thinking about an even bigger picture since I learned we are the 6th best team in the AFC according to that link but that will be changing like crazy as games are still playing and haven't been played this week. The Pats lost!!!!!!
I keep trying to tell everyone NE is not very good...at all....beyond Brady/Welker/TE's. Russell Wilson looked like a rookie out there. He didn't read the defense at all, the only play they seemed to run was play action and chuck it deep. New England has possibly the worst defense I've ever laid eyes on and their roster as a whole is horribly devoid of talent. I honestly believe we can win our division.
Well in 1990 I was born...by the time I started watching and understanding enough to analyze in the least our defenses were pretty damn good with ZT and JT.
I believe in team losses and team wins but come on! If a field goal is made the whole team won and if a field goal is missed a whole team lost? There is different lofic for different circumstances. One play by one player shouldn't speak for an entire team in this case. When its an OT field goal I think you can absolutely say a kicker won or loss a game.
I'm not sure you can say he lost it....I mean he wasn't on defense when we allowed opposing teams to score. What I do think you can say is this. If Carpenter makes the kicks that he is expected to and has throughout his career in Miami, we are 5-1 right now.
I've said that to. lol We are definitely not your average 3-3 team. If opposing teams don't prepare for us like we are a 5-1 team than they've already lost to us.
It sure does feel good! I haven't watched every AFC East game, I've watched a lot of them but I have to say now that the Pats just lost I think we are the better 3-3 team!
Playoffs are in view ... as long as we have no key injuries and RT keeps within himself we'll finish anywhere between 10-6 and 8-8 ... We'll have a good idea where we'll be at the end of week 12 ... all 5 of these games are 'winnable' (acknowledging that 3 games are on the road). Defenses will continue to key on stopping the run and forcing RT to beat them .... and he will continue to learn as the season wears on ...
I find it highly illogical how you made your assumption based on my original comments. But I have to admit that I usually have no idea how you come to many of the conclusions you do. So why should I expect this to be any different?
Man, the AFC sucks this year. Even if New England wins the AFCE, we could still hit a wildcard: South Houston will win it going away Colts are winning some nice games, but come on, I don't see them breaking .500 Tennessee is a bad team Jaguars suck West San Diego - Could win division, could compete for WC Denver - Could win division, could compete for WC Oakland - sucks KC - Sucks even worser North Baltimore - Likely win division Pittsburgh - Will compete for WC Bengals - I don't see them competing for a WC, but they might, Browns - Suck So even if the Pats win the division (which I am not granting them), we'll be battling only Denver/San Diego and Pittsburgh for a WC. The jets suck. I don't care how badly they beat the Colts. Wow, I really like our chances!!!!!!!!!!!
You say we didn't lose that game because of a missed kick. Right? Then how does that change if we make the kick?
The Pats could sweep us and we'd still get to 9 wins if we beat jets, indy, tenn, buffalo X2, and Jax. That's not out of the realm of possibility!
next 4 games are against lesser opponents than the rest down the stretch... I think we have to win 3 of our next 4, put us at 6-4 going into the final tough stretch for us to have any chance... but i think we can do it, keep playing mistake free football and we can beat anyone
Of course we have a chance. Every game is winnable. We won't win all of them, but this team is capable of it if it can keep the turnovers down. I think SF is actually a pretty good matchup for us. If the run defense goes back to where it was before this last game, we can force SF to try to beat us through the air and that's not really their thing. The Pats are very beatable too. Seattle is pretty similar to us and I see that game looking kinda like the game yesterday.
Every game is winnable, every game is losable. I agree, I think 9-7 and we are in. Boy wouldn't that shock a few people! Most importantly, we are strong in the trenches which we can build around for seasons to come.
NFL AM was talking about the AFC EAST being all tied up at 3-3 and said they were gonna talk about tie breakers before they went to commercial. I watched it for a while and they never talked about it. I ended up going to sleep because I was up all night and all morning. lol I'm an insomniac. Does anyone know the current tie breakers? I know its not good we lost to the Jets. All I know is that everybody that thinks we are tied for 1st is slightly wrong. lol
Exactly. Makes me wanna watch other games and cheer for a few teams to lose. lol. Or we can just win our division and not worry about any of that crap. Its very possible!
You never know. Its like predicting the election. Some of these games are like swing states in the race to the election/playoffs. lol
I just wanted to bring this link back up. We are currently the 5th seed playing the Bronco's in the playoffs if the season ended right now. Subject to change as all the games are played this week.
The Cardinals defeated the Pats. We defeated ourselves against the Cardinals. The Pats lost to the Jets. We beat ourselves against the Jets, and we just finished murdering the Jets. The Pats don't scare me. We will beat them twice this year. The only game I am worried about when I look at our schedule is the 49ers.
My predictions are usually real close. I predicted we would beat the Jets 23-20 in OT in the first game, we lost 23-20 in OT against the Jets. For this game we just played I predicted we would win 30-13 we won 30-9. I rarely make predictions, specially score predictions. I believe those are the only ones and they are documented before the games started. I also predicted we would be 10-6 in the off season. Like I said, my predictions are pretty freaking close to being true, so we might be 11-5! lol
We haven't beaten New England since Dec 6th 2009... four straight losses. Until we beat them, we don't deserve to go to the playoffs. I'm sick of New England though. I want to play them NOW and kick the **** out of them. But we have four opponents before them. Indy, Tenn, Buff, Sea... At the very least we should be 6 and 5 heading into that first encounter.
I do not agree with that. If Miami goes 11-5 and loses to the Patriots twice, they deserve to go to the playoffs.
The Patriots aren't the same Patriots any more. I am not saying they suck but they aren't great anymore. They are declining and they are very beatable this year. We will either split games or beat them twice this year. No way we lose twice.
