This trip was created by a Jamaican sophomore dental student who knew of Jamaica’s severe limitations with access to dental care. Jamaica has approximately 1 dentist per 53,000 people, which means that the majority of Jamaican citizens will never see a dentist. To help alleviate this crisis, a team of 14 students and 3 faculty members will be traveling to clinics in Kingston and St. Elizabeth.
We work with Franciscan Ministries to provide free dental care to the underserved in Jamaica. Last year we treated approximately 600 patients in week and with your help this year we can help as many or more families again this year! This is a student run mission trip and we cannot do this without your help. All donations will be acknowledge as we will wear your names on shirts as we serve those in need.
