but seriously, how was this guy out of jail if he's been arrested 26 times??? shouldn't there be some "3 strikes your out" rule? or if we're lenient, "10 strikes your out"?

Unfortunately the great state of Florida has no such laws. You see, crime is big business here. You get arrested, you post bond, hire a lawyer, everyone gets paid, the county is happy.

My dad has been a deputy for almost 20 years now. K-9s are partners with the handlers and are issued paychecks. They are in every way shape and form equal to any other officer. I know in Georgia he would be charged with the death of an officer, hopefully Florida has it's **** together and can charge him accordingly.

I think a lot of people don't realize that there is a lot of money and training tied up in theose K-9s. Just as it costs to send an officer to Mandate school to get deputized, thesse dogs usually cost $10,000 to $12,000 by the time all of the training is done before they are put into service and it takes years to replace. God bless those brave, loyal, loving dogs because they usually pay the ultimate price so the officer can go home safely to their family.

 

Do NOT confuse the legal system we have with a justice system. If it were a true justice systems, career criminals wouldn't be given a slap on the wrist and let back out on the street in a year or less!!
