Not trying to add another poisonous thread. WE all know what's happening as we all watch each and every game. Right now it looks like wight finish 5-11 with one win against the Bills. I want to go on record with the fact that I would love nothing more than us coming out swinging against NE and kick butt for the remaining games on the schedule and go into the Playoffs.

However, that looks to be unlikely.

    No.

Getting 5 wins in the face of all that happened in just your second year, is a damn fine job.

5 or fewer wins after starting 4-2, meaning Gase would be 1-9 or 0-10 to end the season, is where I'd start to think Gase is not the right coach. I'm really hesitant on firing a coach so early because I want to be sure he's bad, so in general I'm for at least a 3 year experiment. Furthermore, there's no escaping the fact that Gase did really well in 2016. But ending 1-9 or 0-10 after starting 4-2? Yeah that would probably do it for me.

No chance. You can look at the record all you want...but show me a team that had to deal with all the distractions this team has had to deal with and done better? Hell...we went through ALL THAT and are lumped in with the majority of teams in the AFC. None of those other teams dealt with that kinda crap...and here we have the same records.

Take a look at the KC Chiefs...they have lost 4 of their last 5...one of those to the New York Giants, would anyone be thinking of firing Andy Reid?

Also, look at the dramatic improvement of our offense since we traded Ajayi, a move most of you screamed about. 32nd ranked offense with...8th ranked since. Sounds like a coach who knows what hes doing to me.

It is very fair to criticize Gase/Burke for their odd in game coaching and apparent denial that they do not need to take a look in the mirror. However, nobody will be nor should be fired from the coaching staff.

However you take a look at these BAD contracts we are stuck with, and you start to take a hard look at the GM.

I think he gets 2 more years regardless of what happens this year and next.Ross is clueless.
Chip Kelley went 10-6 2 seasons in a row and then gave him gm responsibilities .
He quickly dismantled the team and went 6-9 the next year and lurie being the smart owner he fired him before the last game.
Now look where the Eagles are and thanks to our idiot of a gm with that stupid *** trade they now have wentz and a future.
I liked gas coming into the season but I was blinded by the 10-6 season and looking back it was all smoke and mirrors.

There’s absolutely no reason to fire a good, young coach at this point. Give the guy time to build the team and develop his system with his players. Let’s not ignore the fact that he’s essentially coaching the team Philbin and Hickey built.

We found our Mike Tomlin; just need to be patient now. There’s nobody available that has more upside long term than Adam Gase.

Wow!I don't recall anybody on here asking for or demanding 19-0.We want to see progress after going 10-6 but we keep getting the same old **** year after year called false hope. How about this team actually get to the playoffs and win a ****ing game.Whats it been 16 or 17 years?
This team will not win until ross hires the right people and so far he has been a complete failure!

But you keep starting poisonous threads even though very few here agree with your opinion. Did we really need a poll to know that you, Landry and a few brand new accounts here would vote to fire Gase and Tannenbaum? I thought that would be evident in the 50 other threads the two of you started on the exact same topic.

    Not quite right.

Gase is directly responsible for who stays on the roster but not who joins the team in the first place. I am sure there is some co-ordination between the coach and the front office during the draft and signing FA's, but his major responsibility is who remains on the team as opposed to who starts out on the team.

Hell no! This isn't on Adam Gase. We lost Ryan Tannehill, we lost Ted Larsen, McMillan, Lippett. We tried to put band aides on positions like QB and TE. Those decisions.....I put on Gase, but what else was he supposed to do?
Now.. some changes need to be made, that is for sure, but not Gase. Start by moving on from some of the dead weight players we have, let's get Tannehill healthy, upgrade the offensive line (again). We had some horrible luck to start the season. Anyone who follows this team knew in their hearts that this season was screwed when we lost Tannehill. The hurricane, and other injuries just cemented our status. None of those things are the fault of Gase. I think he gets one more season, but I'd we do decide to gamble on Tannehill, then Gase' and his Faye is tied directly to Ryan Tannehill.

Gase is our coach. He will be here a long time. We made moves that didn't work out this year. We had a number of bull**** go against us. Dems the breaks.

I see the right mentality from Gase. I see the right gameplanning and game time decisions. I see good clock management and he doesn't coach scared. He goes for it on 4th, he's gutsy, doesn't settle for field goals. He expects more from his offense and he'd be the first to tell you it's not working the way it should be.

Also, nobody said anything about going 19-0. All we ask is that you don’t go on national television and embarrass yourselves three weeks in a row followed by a loss against one of the worst teams in the league. But apparently that’s asking for too much.

This was my response in another fire Gase thread that got put out of bounds, I'll just use it again.

After the Fail forward fast, Fist pump your sister, Philbert the Queasy years:

Gase feels like Sunshine on my bare buttocks while I'm frolicking in tropical waters. No Island girls rolling me joints on their thighs and bringing me fruity rum cocktails yet, but I think he may get me there. In the mean time, it's sunny and I'm not wearing pants so I'm feeling pretty good.

no I'm saying that he needed (or didn't have the ability) to inform the FO to get better players to fill the 53. So in other words, he was happy with the 53 he would have had. Again, look at his takes on the OL. You mean to tell me, that before FA, he was ok with this line? If you are in charge of the 53, you want a bigger pool of talent t choose from.

In my opinion, Gase wanted to make chicken salad out of chicken ****. It would have cemented his legend. You see the small success they had last year, prevented his ego (and he does have an ego) from having to beg for help. I wouldn't have judged him different. It would have been refreshing if he was just tired of the inconsistency of Pouncey's health and did something about it. Or nothing wrong with admitting that Tunsil is a better guard for now and maybe doing something at LT. Here is the best.....you had issues with Ajayi, from a locker room standpoint and versatility standpoint. Why don't you go ask or draft a damn running back then?

He is a HEAD COACH in the NFL right? He's not an assistant coach. He gets paid to deal with everything that comes up. Booh freaking hoo the millionaire coach had to deal with adversity. Who freaking cares? It's his job. Where has the adversity been over the last five games? What's the pity party got on the menu for this hyper pathetic stretch? He had the QB he wanted up to speed. Parker was back some, he got rid of Ajayi, so yet we have to continue to be understanding? When does it end? Do you think he'll have no adversity to endure next year? There will be no injuries? I don't know what you do for a living but in my job, I am paid to deal with adversity. I'm a hotel GM. The numbers are what the numbers are. Have a chef quit on Thanksgiving day with 1K people on the books? F@cking figure it out. Housekeepers walk off? F@cking figure it out. Sales person dies? F@cking figure it out. If I need to take off my suit jacket (luxury hotel) roll up my sleeves and go make beds, cook short rib empanadas, be a bellman, to make it happen and get the W and the $ I do it. If I don't they'll find someone else that will. Hurricane is coming and I'm not in the evacuation zone and the hotel is full and the power goes out and I have to tell my guests to lay in the shower? F@cking figure it out. To make sure it gets done right in season I have to work 10+ hours a day for 47 days in a row? F@cking figure it out. I don't imagine it's that different in any other job. If you don't perform, you get fired. Why is Gase exempt from that? His job is to handle adversity and ensure a winning product. As is Tannenbaum's. People say we will scare off the other coach candidates if we have too short a hook. I think it's just fine. We need to be a team that everyone understands that losing is not tolerated. We'll pay you tons of money but if you think you have a pass for a whole season because before week one there was a hurricane and your QB went down in training camp, you should be dead wrong. Sure, the first 4 games might be up and down but if you're a coach worthy of the position you should be able to have at least find a way to go 8-8 if you are doing your job right.

With that said, we're not there yet. Maybe today, we'll magically spin it around. I hope so. If I'm Gase I am thinking my job is on the line because it damned well should be.

Don't forget the Tannehill injury is one the team did to itself this year. He should have been re-habbing from the surgery. Because we thought magic little fairies were going to fix his knee, he was in training camp. He should have been made to have had the surgery. So he would have been re-habbing and we would have started training camp with another unknown QB who if Gase was doing his job right would have not sucked. So the T-hill injury Cutler debacle was self caused by Gase and TBaum making bad decisions. So that is a big check on the incompetent report card already.

    1. The oline has not been the problem this year.
    2. I don't see an ego. I've seen a coach who consistently takes responsibility and then makes hard decisions.
    3. No coach will just come out and say the things you want him too about Pouncey or Tunsil. There is whole part of being a coach that you aren't familar with or allowing for with those comments.
    4. You cannot replace everyone on the roster you think is terrible in an offseason, particularly on a team that had the problems this one does.

I agree 100%. Even more, he put himself in this adversity. He failed to grt better linemen and had no plan for qb, thinking RT would stay healthy. He also thought another pass rusher and Julius Thomas were fixes too. And if he doesnt have that say, then speak up

Do you "fire" your car because it won't start? Does it not start and you say:
"Wow. Just wow. That's staggering that you think that not starting would actually be not throw away worthy but GOOD. What would it have to do to be thrown away? B@tch slap the owners wife with the door? Run over nuns in the stands at half time? Run over his family?

Meanwhile, maybe the car doesn't start because it's out of gas. Or you forgot the key. Or the battery is dead because you left the lights on.

What you don't understand is that it would take a once in a generation event to overcome what the team has gone through and have a winning record. Most things need context before they're fully understood.....even 5 win seasons.

When my car let's me down potentially 11 out of 16 times? Yeah, I get rid of the car, take an uber something. If a restaurant serves you the wrong food/cold food/etc. potentially 11 out of 16 times do you keep going back? If an airline bumps you 11 out of 16 times do you keep flying it? What else in life if it goes poorly 11/16 times do you continue it. To lose more than .66% of your games (that's if we go 5-11 which we haven't yet to be fair) how is that realistically not called a heaping helping of failure? Why do we need to be so understanding? Do you not want us to win? Do you want mediocrity? It seems you do.

Instead every post, every thread, every sentence you guys provide is whiny hot takes fed by emotional instability. You've been warned about it by mods. You've even been banned over it because you literally lost your **** when you threatened to leave the site because the Dolphins were playing bad (like a child) and I said, "well bye."

But, unlike you, when i disagree I actually provide logic or numbers or evidence, you provide what comes across like that drunk ******* at the bar who screams over everyone else in rage at the refs, TV, coaches, players, announcers, etc.

That's not what this site ever was, in fact, it was created specifically to NOT be that kind of place...so by you being the embodiment of "that guy" and trying to post your hot take BS daily...you are the one being contrarian.

He's the head coach. Win with what you have. It's the job. Now we're going to pretend he didn't want Tannehill and he's an unfortunate little angel trying his best in the face of adversity? Bull crap. He's fielding the teams that are flat out embarrasing us. Want the glow of the victory then you better be ready for the septic tank smell of defeat. Last year he was the best thing since the SI Swimsuit issue because HE got us to the playoffs. But this year we lost and it wasn't HIS fault. Total junk.
