Do you agree on starting Chad Pennington over Chad Henne. I voted yes, you do not have to say how or why you voted and which way you vote cannot be seen.

Nope.
he's made out of glass though, So i don't think this will be the last we see of Henne.Coral Reefer likes this. -
All this tells me is that everyone who wants Henning fired should want Sparano fired too. He's just as big a panzy when it comes to playing offensive football.
Hey Ross, fire these clowns. -

No. Pennington threw more picks against the Ravens than Henne did, in the playoffs, when it was time to get it done, and all of them were his fault.
Henne barely got a full year of starts in before they pulled the plug.
Time will tell if this was the right move or not. But without knowing what the plan is for the future of the QB position, I do not think it was a good idea. If they've got a solid plan for the future, then my opinion of it gets better, but I still don't like a mid-season switch like this when we really have nothing left to lose as the playoffs are such a longshot -
Pennington may be a better QB than Henne now, but I think Henne could have developed into an elite. We'll never know now.
-
Playing with fire on this one. I get that Dan Henning and Chad Henne don't co-exist. But for **** sakes get rid of the old man that keeps calling play fakes on 3rd & Long when nobody in their right mind will buy them.

Pennington is not some miracle quarterback that takes teams to the playoffs in golden carriages made from pumpkins. He's a decent QB who based on his injury history and age is not someone you can put the future of this franchise on. -
I'll eat crow if Pennington sets the world on fire and we win a SB, but if we fall short of that, this was a pointless decision that will set the franchise back unless we snag a good QB in FA.MarinePhinFan likes this. -
I said no... though we will see our record improve, but i dont think it'll be the doing of Penny, just the fact that our schedule gets much easier the second half of the season compared to the first...

Voted No because Henne MIGHT be the future and I had not quite given up on him.
However, if tomorrow was the Super Bowl with Miami playing in it and I had my choice of who to start.
A completely healthy Chad Pennington would be my choice.
I think CP will be hurt at some point though.... -

Pennington looked great in the preseason with the limited time he got with the starters. If he plays like that then we're set but who's to say he'll play like that?

I don't believe the poll result on this thread (our forum) is reflective throughout Dolfandom. we definite have a Henne bias @ work here
what I'm seeing is nearly 70% of the fan-base in favor of the move http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/sfl-dolpollqb10,0,300242,post.poll -
Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?
Can you say the same about the folks voting on that particular poll? :pity:
Newsflash: I can vote on a poll about the Broncos in the Denver Post despite not being a fan. Kinda neat that way.BlameItOnTheHenne likes this. -
please, no more excuses & the obvious answer is yes they are mostly dolfans

Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?
I'll wait.
I'm just pointing out the fallacy in your logic.
Obvious? Really.
I do know that there are a lot of transplants from the New York/New England area there in southern Florida. Guess that means they all converted from the teams they loved their whole lives... Must be a law or something...
Guess that's why there are so few Jets and Pats fans at a Dolphins home game... :pity: -
Friend BlameItOnTheHenne:
no!
I have a bias against losing
I want to start the best we have @ every position
I simply want to win:omg: -
Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?
I'd start with looking at an OC that doesn't call a play action pass on 3rd and 12.
Don't get me wrong, I love Pennington as much as the next guy and I believe he will do well in this offense that was built for a QB with his particular skill set.
What I also believe is that you need to build an offense for the QB you have in. Henne, while getting better, isn't the "short-range, dink and dunk, eat-up-the-clock" QB Pennington is. You have to open it up more, get the running qame involved like Ronnie in the first quarter of the last game, and let him work.

And yet you never say why Penny is the best at his position.
-
I respect your opinion
however
Sparano no longer would agree with you. he choose Pennington because he obviously believes he gives us the best chance to win.
I rest my case... -
all we know for sure is that the answer isn't Henne
let's hope for the best with Pennington:deadhorse: -
Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?
However, if Henning had done his job and built the offense to Henne's strengths, we wouldn't be having this debate... :shifty:
I'm more upset about the FO making that mistake than I am with the whole Henne/Penny thing. -
Love Pennington, but as a mentor or coach for Henne and not our starter. Henne is our guy and needs the experience. I don't doubt that Penny can win, but what does that do for us in the future???? Sets us back, even if they go back to Henne later on. Talk about a confidence killer......if Henne had any doubts with himself before, I'm sure his confidence has been crushed now.
IDIOTS!!! -
They shouldn't start Henne or Penny - they should start Thiggy. He pulled us out of a Henne funk before and is the proper maturity level to do something. Henne is a child and Penny is a grandpa. That only leaves one QB on our roster. Starting Penny is "a band aid fix" at best.

You , Chad Henne, now have an offensive line that gives you enough time to change the oil in your car, boat, quad, motorcycle and Motorhome. There is no excuse why you will not take shots downfield. Screw the excuse your hands are tied, BS excuse only to keep your stats from looking bad. You would rather throw it 10 feet out of bounds instead of risking a mark against you in an interception. What was next ? taking sacks instead of incompletions ? Henne is not a BAD QB but in the same thought, he is not near the talent to take any team to the next level.
We do not need spurts of possibilities, we do not need someone so afraid of chancing throwing it downfield to a receiver, we do not need someone that is still living on his supposed storied Michigan accomplishments. We need someone who can get the job done and simply put, you cannot do it.
Many complain he has only had 21 games to prove himself. If there was anything worth proving, we , the entire sporting world, would have seen it by now. You slid by last year with the success of the wildcat, the defenses have figured out our RBs do not have the speed anylonger for that. You had the benefit of the doubt this year, 8 games into the season and you are still the Chad Henne that is nothing more then a good backup in the NFL. Maybe Marino ruined everyones expectations of what a QB should be, do not know but I do know, you are not the one. Sorry, but thats pure fact. -

Truth hurts sometimes. Who knows, maybe the Henne lovers will see this wakes the kid up. As you all like to throw at us, part of the learning/growing experience. I will take more wins even if they put a cheerleader at QB. Wins = gooooood. Henne = mediocre, at best. If you are happy with .500 football team then Hennes your man. -
I voted no. You just cannot expect a guy to play at a pro bowl caliber without going through some growing pains first. Not to mention he's not getting much help from the OC.
-
Not one person gives me a timeline and then if he did not work out, an additional timeline for another work in progress QB to be broken in.
If something is not working, you change it up, pure and simple. Henne was not working. To be honest, he was embarassing on the edge line of putrid.
