I've never been a soccer fan, but I've never seen a game live. I imagine it's like hockey were to really appreciate it you need to see it live. Anyway, now that Portland has a MLS team I think I'm going to try to catch a game. Especially after seeing high-lits of the timbers first home game. One thing I have to give up for NW sports fans, we know how to make some noise. Here are my questions. Tickets seem to be from $8 to $95 (the $95 ones are box seats I think) with a bunch of different price levels in between. where are good seats? Mid field? Is there any advantage to viewing higher, or do I just want to be as close to the field as possible? Also, they switch directions right? I love seating close to the opponents goal for hokey, and with three periods one side gets 2 views. It shouldn't matter with MLS right? Thanks for any answers.
yo man i went to both home games this last weekend. they really are a blast. I spent $31 for the first game and $18 for the second. both in the timbers army and general admission(timbers army is in the general admission). my friend has season tickets, that is how I got them. yeah they switch sides, and usually the Timbers will be attacking the north goal in the second half. I haven't sat in midfield only behind the north goal. since your new you probably want to sit anywhere except the north end. although if you are going to cheer your butt off, it might be better to get general admission tickets. to my knowledge, the games in the general admission(and elsewhere for that matter) are sold out..luckily timbers army members usually sell everything at face value, soooooo maybe you will be able to find one....hope i helped a little. my friend has 5 season tickets and can't make all the games. would you like me to PM you if he has tickets available? never know, we could always meet up at a game or something.
That is an awesome offer I really appreciate it. My schedule is weird though, and I live in Sandy, so don't worry about getting tickets. Looking at ticket-master it looks like non-general admission tickets go on sale the day of the match and are first come first serve. My brothers condo is down town, actually right across from the stadium, so I might do a weeknight game and crash at his place sometime.
