It can definitely be taught. It took how many years before someone fixed Tiki Barber?

I think it is safe to say that Ryan Tannehill is not going to be making the leaps and bounds type improvement we all hoped for this season.

There are flashes and he has some really good halves, but there haven't been many instances where he kept it together for a full game. There are a variety of reasons for that which aren't all Ryan's fault, just like with Henne once upon a time, but it is what it is.

He's a backup on most teams.

Tannehill fumbling the ball so much is a function of him being sacked so much. He's not losing the ball when sacked at a particularly high rate(25%), so I'm not sure where hand size enters into it. Guys like Peyton Manning(54.5%), Matthew Stafford(50%), are losing the ball at a much higher proportion than that, it's just they're being sacked less.

It's being talked about because the fumbles are numerically coming more often given the circumstances, and that's leading to adverse consequences more frequently.

he is the franchise QB & will continue to develop throughout the season, if he is not injured

Watch how Rusell Wilson handles the football when he scrambles, how he fakes opponents with pump fakes in the pocket and out on the perimeter..he uses his grip on the football as an extension to deek his opponent, he's got big hands..
Now think whens the last time you saw such deception from Ryan When it comes to handling the football..

I can tell you a very quick way to at least help a bit...today's gloves..

It's basically legal cheating, you might as well use one while you can.

Since you brought it up and people keep throwing $60M out there - Wallace actually got $27 million in guaranteed money in the contract. He got an $11 million signing bonus plus a guaranteed $1 million base salary in 2013. And his 2014 base salary of $15 million is guaranteed. That's $27 million total over two seasons.

The $60M was ONLY if the option in the contract was extended and he was here for the entire 5 seasons.

Since we have already swallowed the $11M, that $1M salary this season and $15M next might actually make him a trade asset at some point.

I'd venture to say his hands are no smaller the Dan Marino's.

Absolutely he is. Tannehill hate is always the 1-dimensional: 'Turn-over machine", "Sackaholic" nonsense.

I really hate to play the same tune but guess what....an offensive line....is suppose to be a blocking formation! A line that protects your backs and let's them do their job.

Am I expecting no sacks? No fumbles? No, that is going to happen, good o-line or not. But how many times has this happened to Ryan this year? How much abuse has he taken so far yet like a gentlemen picked himself up and never once blamed his o-line for their atrocious play....His is literally getting killed out there and is being a total sport about it when Marino would have executed Clabo and Martin right there at Sun Life or Gillette...

And he is taking all the crap for this too? You guys are merciless, anyone else would have requested a trade or refused to play, Ryan has more patience than even Dan the man, that is for sure.

If the Dolphins had actually recovered the fumble, I might agree with you. The fact is that the Patriots recovered the fumble even before we knew there was a penalty on the play. So while the Patriots may not have had the ball close to the Dolphins end zone, it would have still been their ball and it would have been third down for the Patriots with a long way to go.

Even assuming the Patriots don't make a first down and they were forced to punt. The Dolphins would have probably got the ball back at no better than their own 20 yard line. The Dolphins offense did absolutely nothing in the second half of the game. They scored zero points and there is no evidence that they would have protected Tannehill any better or been more effective if the Vernon play had not been called a penalty.

I think overlooking how inept the Dolphin offense was in the second half and instead dwelling on the one play, which the Dolphins didn't recover anyway, just makes no sense when trying to justify why the Dolphins lost this game. They lost because they were completely outplayed in the second half of the game, it is as simple as that.
