The fact this is even mentioned is a HUGE point of note.....

RT @tedhill Elvis Dumervil is also from Miami, so another connection. ... Correct: born in Miami and played at Miami Jackson HS.

Dumervil came out in the same draft as No. 1 overall pick Mario Williams. Since then, Williams has 39.5 sacks, Dumervil 43.

Mike Nolan brings 3-4 defense to Miami, along with knowledge of Broncos free agent LB Elvis Dumervil. Look for him to be on Miami's radar.

It would make more sense to take a run at B Marshall, we already have a Dumerville type in Cam Wake, why give up a #1 and #3 for another one?

Although Wake is an entirely different player, there is a better chance of Tuna inviting this entire forum to his house, for the weekend, to talk football than giving up a #1 and a #3 to make that deal.

Better shot at Wilfork. He would only cost money, and help as much if not more.

    Esp. the #12 pick overall.

The one guy it would not surprise me to see Nolan bring in is Ronnie Fields the NT, and maybe Adalious Thomas to play the SSOLB position.

This is good from a pass rush standpoint, but horrible from a run standpoint. If the rest of the linebackers were better, this would be a great move.

Screw that!!!!We do not want to give up a #1 and a #3 for anybody.I would rather sign mbl dansby and draft a pass rusher. That would fix 2 spots on this defence. We have to many needs to be giving up draft picks.

There is ample talent at NT in UFA. Wilfork would be a God send but there is Hampton, Tank Johnson, and a few others who are better than Ferg, at this point of his career.

Thomas may be an option. I would look for Banta Cain to get some interest.

Perhaps, even Dansby from Zona, on the inside. He will be pricey but, will be a good fit in Nolan's D.

Agreed. I do not believe that Tuna would give up a #1, #3, and a HUGE contract to anyone, even if someone was holding a gun to his head. JK/:pointlol:

This. Cameron Wake is tailor-fit for what Elvis Dumervil did last year. If he produces anything relatively close to what he did this year in his opportunities we don't need Dumervil.

having both wake and dumerville makes porter expendable & our pass rush dangerous.

While I would relish having Dumervil here and Nolan would surely be an influence towards us getting him, as long as we come up with a star WR I would disappointed in this offseason. Draft or FA, I don't care, but either way, a must have is a dominate WR.

Dumervil is only 5'11" and 255. Wake is bigger, stronger, faster, and more athletic. Let's see what Nolan can do with him.

Ain't gonna happen without a lotta luck. There is NO ONE availavable in FA, and the draft is what it is, a chance.

I would rather pick up dansby in free agency (come on lets spend some damm money on the right players)and draft jason pierre-paul to replace porter. This guy could be a special player as a 3-4 rush linebacker. He also strong against the run and is a good tackler.
