Why cant Parcells or the new coach be in charge of that?

 

Parcells is 66 years old and never really stays with a team for more the 4 years. Parcells was hired to put a foundation in place for the long-term, and that includes many years after Parcells is gone. Ireland can last for a long time.

Also, a coach who is also the GM never really works out well.

 

So in other words Parcells is the Contractor hired to hire a contractor to make the building. And The Coach is the future building manager/owner who gets no say in how the building was made...

Does anyone else see the irony here? I just have the feeling Parcells is going to turn out to be as good a VP as Marino was.

 

Well it has been two days..enough time to make a judgement like that.

 

parcells cant do EVERYTHING. I mean, we have a Vice President of the United States, that doesnt mean the President is just sitting on his bum all day. I mean, if Parcells has final say, why have anyone at all? To do all the little tasks. Hes just the manager calling the final shots.

Consider it like a store then. You have the store manager and a bunch of assisstants. Basically, it just comes down to having someone to help you organize and plan everything. Just that the final calls come down to you.

The promising thing underlying it all is that Parcells is a "football guy". The other chumps that have been trying to run this team over the past few years have had little if any knowledge about football.
