Ok guys what do you think about this.....Ted Ginn Jr and Matt Roth traded next year for some draft picks or another player??? Would that be a good idea or should we try something different. Give me your thoughts!!
if so, it better be before the draft......so we get help immediatley. or we sign a FA WR.....cause no matter how much ginn sucks..............hes our only deep threat.
I don't think we're doing any dealing with Ginn. After watching him this season, seriously who would want him? No, we're going to keep him on the team, and try to develop him into something. We're going to try to figure out something for him like we tried to with Wilford. Put him in different roles in training, see how it goes, if something sticks great, if it doesn't, he'll probably be deactivated and/or cut, as sad of a fall as it is. Roth needs to play this year before anyone will want to put any money into him. But I have a feeling he will, and he'll play well. JT has been decent, but I think moving him to rotate with Porter, and bringing Roth back in as SLB will be what the staff does, if Roth is practicing back at his previous levels. Picking up a 4th for either of those players isn't going to happen, and if they prove themselves to be WORTH a 4th, we'll probably likely want to keep them in whatever role they proved themselves in.
Isn't Roth a free agent after the season which would make it impossible to trade unless we sign him and trade him...but wouldn't the team that wanted Roth want to set there own contract????
i think the following could be traded for draft picks or players. no reason to limit yourself wr/ ginn, bess, camarillo te/ fasano/ haynos lb/ JT, Porter, wake, roth crowder, ayodele, s/ wilson, bell cb/ will allen
Good point. I didn't realize that Roth was going to be a FA. I know that these players are playing the best ball so I thought they would be more expendable.
That makes sense. You could take one from each category there and actually be able to get something good out of it. Then go to the draft and FA to fill the empty spots.
It's a Hobson's choice. If Ginn continues the way he is now, no one will give us anything for him. And if he gets to the point where someone will give us something for him, it will be because he has improved, and then what they will give us for him probably won't be worth what he will have become. Thanks a lot, Cam Cameron, you genius.
I think the window for trading Ginn has passed......we may have gotten something for him following the Jets game, but now I would imagine that most teams would rather just sit back and wait for us to cut him. Not to mention, what is he really worth anyway? Plenty of track stars out there as street FA's, that probably have more upside.
We're 2-4 right now, with road games at the Jets and Patriots on deck. We may not have to trade up to get Bryant.
