First off, damn fine job so far. When InFINSible called me yesterday and told me that we're all jumping ship I was shocked. But, it seems like the solid fan base that was FH is all here and accounted for. So far, I'm liking what I'm seeing. I'm certain you're all getting besieged with questions. My big question is post count and join date. While they are FH specific, I think they should be referenced somewhere under our Avatar. I'm very proud of my join date of 3/03 and my 4,300 posts. What can be done about this?
I was thinking about that too since I don't post much. My join date was pretty much the only badge I had that said I wasn't a troll
I understand... I had almost 22,000 posts and a join date of May 2002... but....It's a fresh start here... I say leave it all behind.
Thanks. It'd be tough, that's for sure. Especially since they're two different sites. And I just can't go over there and get everyone's post count and join dates. While I absolutely understand the sentiment, and we don't wish to forsake the past, we're not trying to look back. We're trying to move forward.
I am okay with the new start, I had quite a few over there, not as many as a lot of you. Its a fresh start with something new and innovative, friends and family. Number of posts don't make the poster, its the person behind the posts that make the poster and that is what will make this site great.
whew! Hey Muck, Wharf, Celt, et al.... thanks for telling me about this place /sarcasm. i was left for dead over there! but glad to be here, hope to support wherever/whomever i can.
Hey texasPHINSfan, good to see ya, <cough> I've got some 2,000 posts of varying quality, could someone pass me...please?
Just take a fresh start. I've been on numerous boards ever since boards were "invented", so to speak. I just went around from this one, to that one, around the circle again while eventually not visiting most nearly as often. Then about 5 years ago or so, I gravitated to FH predominately. I consider this to be the same, i.e. with the same great people worthy of my spending what little time have to spend this way. Even so, it is still a split, a new and [better] one I might add. But as far as post counts? I don't worry about them as much as i do the quality of them. you may see it differently, however, and that is fine also.
Muck, just wondering but do you think it would be ethical if "some of us" lurking over there from time to time to PM a member there, with the link here, if they were wondering "what happened and where is everyone"?
i dont know what the "official" word is, but i think as long as you aren't pressuring them to come here or anything i personally don't see a problem with it. i've sent out a few "informative" pm's myself. not asking anyone to come here, of course
Good idea! as long as you are not "officially" soliciting anyone, it should all be good. I wouldn't consider a PM as an official solicitation. IMO, it is no different than a regular email.
If they request a link, make sure you tell them thephins.com as there already is a phins.com. We don't want to send them mercilessly into the gates of................
