That's really not going to be the Dolphins' standard operating procedure under Kevin Coyle though. He wants blitzers. He wants to induce confusion and indecision up front. That's why he constantly has both Ellerbe and Wheeler crowding the A gaps pre-snap and threatening to bltz, even if the end result is both players pulling back into coverage.

Agreed. This team will look to be ridiculously aggressive on defense. If they get burnt too much they may pull back of course, but I think the plan is to blitz relentlessly.

I'm interested to see how much the Phins use Jordan and in what packages, position and downs. Will he actually see the field much considering he's missed some practice time.

I think about 20 snaps or so, primarily pass rush downs.

Lets not overlook the fact that the Browns have arguably the best offensive mind in football calling plays.

Remember, all Norv had to do was call a couple of run plays deep in our own territory. Don't act like you don't remember

Their 2nd CB Buster Skrine was added to the injury list with a shoulder injury.

He was a questionable player to begin with, so imagine this will only help Hartline. The Browns' injuries seem to play directly into our strengths.

Maybe it's me, but Weeden to Bess, Little, & Cameron doesn't scare me. Not having Gordon, really hurts that team. I think by the end of the year, we'll be happy we played Cleveland in Week 1. We're missing Gordon & Mingo.

    Mingo OUT for game Sunday.

Have to think that is a huge break for our o-line.

Even since the glory days in Dallas with JJ, I've always felt Norv Turner to be somewhat overrated as an OC, he can seem great at times but usually those times he has superior personnel on offense. Airman, Irvin & Smith could make any OC look great with that OL. Same could be said for San Diego with the key position players he had there.

He is pretty good, but I believe most of his success has been due to the weapons he had when he was successful.

I've always had a ton of respect for Norv Turner's adherence to the concepts of balance and threatening every part of the football field.

Norv Turner offense perfect fit for Weeden IMO. Will be interesting to see how it works out.

Probably will work out pretty well once Josh Gordon is back. I don't expect it to go so hot while he's out.

Are you trying to steal phinsational's crown as this board's biggest homer?

Going to the game Sunday with a Cleveland fan (buddy). If they lose Buster Skrine & Rubin, I feel really good about our chances. I like our chances already missing Mingo & Gordon. Either one of those players at less than 100% is really nice. If they're out, we may be golden.

I'm going to the game. I take my son on a father-son sports trip every year. With a visit to the Football HOF and the Rock n Roll HOF, in addition to the game, it should actually make Cleveland a pretty cool vacation for a 13 yr old kid.

I feel pretty good about the game. Not overwhelmingly so, but I think we should win it. As is so often the case, I think it will depend on the turnover battle.

I'll be in section 524. If you guys need recommendations on restaurants or things to do in Cleveland for the weekend, feel free to message me. Any tailgating / parking tips or anything I can help with, as well.

    Go Phins!

I'm going to the game myself, with my dad. Section 536. It's my second time seeing the Phins in Cleveland, the last time was in the old stadium and I had a bar partially blocking my view.

The Dolphins won that day, but that also was the day Marino blew out his achilles so it wasn't a good day all around. I feel good about our chances this Sunday, though! Hoping for our offense to prove they are going to take a bit step forward this year.

Norv Turner hasn't been relevant in quite some time.

Philbin is the architect of Green Bay's high powered, Super Bowl winning offense.

This is not homerism. This is fact. I get that if the opinion isn't covered in **** and anger you think its homerism, but some of us are realistic. Philbin was and is, among the finest offensive minds in the league...the ONLY person disputing that is you.

  38. Samphin

Well, technically, Philbin was probably more of the engineer of Green Bay's offense. The architect hires the engineer, so McCarthy is probably considered the architect.

    ...I'll see myself out.

Actually, Schmucky McGoatnutz, McCarthy is the general contractor cause he called the plays that Philbin designed.

    So there.

    INJURY UPDATE
Besides Taylor (groin) and Davis (toe), third-string quarterback Pat Devlin (toe) also is out Sunday. No Dolphin is listed as doubtful, and Patterson is questionable. Defensive end Dion Jordan (shoulder), tight end Dion Sims (groin), safety Jimmy Wilson (hamstring), defensive lineman Vaughn Martin (ankle) and linebacker Jonathan Freeny (shoulder) are probable.

For the Browns, linebacker Barkevious Mingo (lung) and guard Shawn Lauvao (ankle) are out. Defensive Ahtyba Rubin (calf) and cornerback Buster Skrine (shoulder) are both questionable.

that patterson injury is kinda new and would be a major blow....
