I agree, but no one is going to take that monster salary he has.

Yeah, ask Danny Marino about RBs...

I don't see them moving Brown at this point, unless someone comes to the table with an offer that can't be refused and, very important and, Ronnie agrees to re-sign with the new team...no team will trade for him in his last year of the contract. He's part of the strength of this team. While the Trio aren't ones to value RBs as much as some, they also know when losing a RB is not the right thing to do... besides, I disagree with that premise about the Tuna, wasn't he the one who finagled Curtis Martin away from the NE ?? I think he values a quality RB who is a 4 down back. Brown is that kind of back.

As to Roth, I'm torn. He has done well but he is certainly a weakness at the WOLB spot. He would be best serve at DE in a 4/3 scheme. He's capable at OLB, but not ideal. He is a 2-down backer. I'm not so sure that Anderson or Wake are the answer either. Anderson has had more opportunities to cement a spot and he's still not there. Wake has a tremendous upside, but right now it's just potential, not reality... They made Roth fit in where they needed him last season. Can they do the same with a Roth/Wake or Roth/Anderson combo ?? I don't know, but the indications are that neither Wake nor Anderson can set the backside and provide the run D we need from that position that Roth can.

Of course, a draftee like Cushing, Barwin, Sintim or English makes it a whole new ball game for Roth and Anderson. I would think that with a decent offer, they could either or both be gone after/during the draft...

Folks diss Roth for lack of sacks, but he does not get as many opportunities as Porter. Sure, he would still probably not get as many sacks, but if he rushed as often as JP, Roth would have had 10+ IMO.
It may be simplistic to say, but Roth is our Carl Banks. Go back and check, and Carl never racked up big sack totals. He was still a key cog in that defense though. The Giants of the mid/late 80s got their sacks from Taylor first, Marshall a somewhat distant but still significant 2nd, and the rest were a sacks by committee type of deal, as I recall.

Only someone close to a Superbowl run who has their premier pass-risher go down in training camp.

That's gonna be one short short list, though.

lol... in fact I can't think of any teams that are Superbowl contenders but who rely on just one main guy as their entire pass rush.

Guess that shows us that the Dolphins should find more pass rushers if we expect to be a Superbowl caliber team!

He might as well say that we should move ZT to SS.
