As we all eagerly await the start of training camp in about a month I thought we could have a little fun seeing how this is the slowest time of the year. The Dolphins have a lot of talent and will have quite a few battles heading into camp. Guard, WR opposite Marshall, DE, OLB, CB, FS are all starting positions that will be up for grabs. Obviously we know who the candidates are and that the depth will be excellent. Will be an interesting camp. I can't even remember who the hell is on our team right now to be honest. I DO have a bad feeling about an injury to someone of signifigance occurring in pre-season though. I don't know who, but Henne is in the back of my mind. I am hoping that I am 100% incorrect.

WOW! I like gutsy calls... John Jerry, Tim Dobbins and Smith/Davis! NOICE! Sounds like a heck of a lineup to me! I'll have to go with this, although I'd like to see Donald Thomas become that mauler Sparano envisioned. I'd also like to see Crowder step up the way Zach would want him to but Dobbins looks and sounds like a really good pickup and he seems to be very intent on becoming a starter.

Well I think Will Allen and Vontae Davis are better, and that's not a knock on Smith because I think the whole trio is going to be very, very good.

It isn't like I am rooting for it to happen. Pre-season injuries happen every year, and I think we have been pretty lucky to avoid major ones recently. I just get the feeling that we won't be so lucky this year, is all.
It seems like everyone is on the same page. only differences in the list are Crowder/Dobbins Culver/Clemons Allen/Smith I think Crowder will start over Dobbins. Though by the end of the season I could see Dobbins starting. Clemons over Culver. Smith over Allen. Though I think he could have a better year than Smith, I think the team wants to keep the young guys playing together.

Sean was a much better cover corner. Vontae was a great tackler and created big plays (ints) but he got burnt much more than Smith.
It kind of just breaks down to some important questions. 1. Does Ronnie start the season or does Ricky have to start in his place while Ronnie gets warmed up? 2. Who starts/plays opposite Marshall in 2-WR sets, between Brian Hartline, Greg Camarillo and Davone Bess? 3. Who wins the LG job, between John Jerry, Donald Thomas, Cory Procter and Nate Garner? 4. Will Richie Incognito lose a RG job that seems already given to him? 5. Who between Phil Merling and Jared Odrick wins the RE job? 6. Does Koa Misi run away with the SOLB job as I've been assuming since draft day? 7. Does Channing Crowder lose his two-down job to Tim Dobbins? 8. Does Cameron Wake beat Charlie Anderson for a job on 1st and 2nd down? 9. Which two between Will Allen, Sean Smith and Vontae Davis will start in base packages? 10. Who wins the Free Safety job in base packages, between Tyrone Culver and Chris Clemons?

Spot on, 3 quibbles: -Phil Merling opens at DE -Imho Q Moses opens at OLB especially against Buffalo, a run heavy team. -Ty Culver at FS, they talked up Clemons, but I just think they go with the Veteran on Opening Day. I think Wake and Misi are rotational players to start the year as both are conversion projects to OLB. Love the Donald Thomas selection imho he has been written off to quickly as he was the #1 guy on the Dolphins Oline at the point of attack with 83% wins in man on man blocking.
