http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...d-practice-squad-entering-the-regular-season/ Couple surprise cuts in there, and a couple people I think should get cut he has making the team. It's mostly folly until at least the 2nd preseason game, but just something interesting to read.
Someone needs to tel BVP Matt Copa was waived... And Ike Francis is having a strong camp, do not know if that translates, but he has been beasting.
Have they gotten around to mentioning that Martin retired? The day they signed Micah Kiah, they waived Kopa.
We have a serious problem at WR. Pruitt looking good, so is Carter. Gates is doing his thing. And Wallace isn't looking terrible. 7 Wr's? Not usually known to happen. Last year we had 5 and 2 weren't NFL quality. Gates sticks. Moore is probably on the outs. Pruitt also plays ST so he may stick. I want to see more of Carter as well. These preseason games are really important. Just hope we don't have another Armstrong situation.
I'm really glad we have that problem at WR, if indeed true (lets see the preseason games of course). Polite cut? That would surprise the hell out of me, new offense or not.
Well, this is kind of a good problem and probably why we never went after any UFAs at WR. 6 Wrs is possible I guess, but not 7. Wallace maybe ahead of Pruitt and Carter right now, but any 2 of the 4 between those 3 and Moore could make it. I don't expect we keep 3 TEs plus an H Back like Volin says. I'd say we keep Polite and one less TE. I guess it is more likely Polite can fill the Vickers role right now than Clay can. Clay isn't going to be the blocker Polite is, right off the bat. I'd also say we keep 6 corners and 4 safeties because good cover men are harder to come by. I'd rather keep Sapp as the 6th corner and cut Culver.
Here's what jumps out to me: 1. No Big Lou? I really hope he doesn't get cut. I have a hard time believing we will keep 3 TE plus Clay at H-Back. My guess is either Shuler or Brackett is cut and Big Lou stays. 2. By most accounts Sheets is looking good. Could he beat out Grigsby or Hilliard. Not sure Hilliard should be getting a free ride, but it seems like he is a Sparano favorite. 3. Sparano and Co. have some tough decisions to make at the WR position. The only problem at WR is we have lots of depth but no real #2. 4.When all is said and done, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jimmy Wilson higher up the depth chart. Dare I say maybe even starting at FS?
Cuz he's not good enough. I like Hartline, I just don't think he has proven to be a bonafide #2 yet. It looks as though this regime disagrees with me, so hopefully he turns the corner this season, drops less balls and proves his worth.
He's actually pretty solid, he just needs a seam-stretching threat like Clay on the field. If you're looking for a true number two, there aren't many that are inexpensive, fairly consistent, great quickness, route-running, solid speed. He's an underrated player and considering #2 WR is arguably the 10th-11th most important position on offense he's fine.
If Jerry gets cut it'll be yet another swing and miss on the offensive line. Wasn't Sparano supposed to be an expert in that field?
