Okay, now with the release of this year's schedule comes the inevitable preseason predictions of the 2012 season. My quick look predictions without much rhyme or reason for this year's schedule:
2012 REGULAR SEASON
1 Sep 9 1:00PM AT TEXANS; Alas, the Texans yet again...loss (0-1)
2 Sep 16 4:15PM v. RAIDERS; This should be a 1pm game, wearing white and making the Raiders suffer in black. regardless...win (1-1)
3 Sep 23 1:00PM v. JETS; Sparano's first visit back to Miami...win (2-1)
4 Sep 30 4:05PM AT CARDINALS; Intriguing match-up. we don't fair well going west, but it is the Cardinals...win (3-1)
5 Oct 7 1:00 PM AT BENGALS; Mediocre team but we don't do well in Cincinnatti...close one, but...loss (3-2)
6 Oct 14 1:00PM v. RAMS; Fisher's going to have a powerhouse defense that believes but it is the Rams...win (4-2)
7 BYE
8 Oct 28 1:00PM AT JETS; New York's offense is going to be turning against themselves with Sparano ball. I see Tebow actually having a shot at starting, but...we sweep...win (5-2)
9 Nov 4 1:00PM AT COLTS; Andrew Luck, welcome to the NFL...win (6-2)
10 Nov 11 1:00PM v. TITANS; Not the same team, but that defense still scares me. I have a feeling we're going to be served humble pie...loss (6-3)
11 Nov 15 8:20PM AT BILLS; Cold at Orchard Park, but not yet freezing. I think we bounce back from Tennessee...win (7-3)
12 Nov 25 1:00PM v. SEAHAWKS; Coming back home after the high of beating Buffalo may cause us to be a bit cocky...loss (7-4)
13 Dec 2 1:00PM v. PATRIOTS; The dreaded juggernaught of Belicheat comes to Miami. With our bye being a little later in the year, maybe we're not worn out. Close win (8-4)
14 Dec 9 4:05PM AT 49ERS; Again, we don't fair well going west and facing that defense?...loss (8-5)
15 Dec 16 1:00PM v. JAGUARS; This is going to be a one hell of a battle but I think our defense will hold Gilbert...(9-5)
16 Dec 23 1:00PM v. BILLS; Miami will actually start believing we're going to make the playoffs and will look to crush the Bills...win (10-5)
17 Dec 30 1:00PM AT PATRIOTS; As high as we are from a 2 game winning streak, we're going to get crushed for a season finale as New England will be playing for a bye...(10-6)
Just my QUICK look at the games this year and my CONFIDENCE in Philbin and Sherman to put points up on the board as well as our defense to hold opponents. Will we make the playoffs? Too soon to tell, but that's my take...
Preparing for ridiculing responses in 3...2...1...

I rather wait on the draft but if we draft players to start I'll say 7-9 if we draft tannehill grooming him for a later season 5-11. I can see 9-7 as best possible season if we catch some breaks no injury bug, getting lucky with turnovers, etc.

I like it.

8-8, no playoffs -
The only thing I will add at this time is that knowing Sherman was coaching in Houston for a couple of years we just might get that monkey off our backs this year. Add to that their beat up QB just might be a little jumpy the first couple of games after getting hurt last year.
Would love a 1-0 start!The_Dark_Knight likes this. -

We do this every year. We have a schedule on paper that should yield 9+ wins and every year we lose a couple games we probably shouldn't. Last year it was Cleveland, the second Pats game, the Giants game, the Broncos game, etc.
This year who knows. I chalk a lot of that up to coaching ineptitude and a seeming lack of second half adjustments. I think Philbin might be good for say 2 extra wins and if everyone comes to camp in shape and we don't have all of those early injuries, we might add in a 3rd one.
But yeah, I've looked at schedules ever year, seen a legitimate shot to not suck, and eventually we always do.Ohio Fanatic likes this. -
8-8, another lackluster season ending too early. It's hard to overcome the last 20 yrs of bad direction and drafts. But I will still be supporting my team.

Being at this time, we have no playmakers on offense. Our D is average, I'm going to say 4-12/last in our division.

10-6 mainly because I am the eternal optimist.

Lets make this way out of proportion: 13-3.

We're going to win our first 5 games. This will send expectations and hope through the roof.
We're going to lose the next 2 going into the bye. When we lose tot he Rams we're going to have chicken littles screaming for everyone's head because Fisher "beat" us. The fans start to unravel over the bye week.
We end up with a 9-7 record. With the final win being against the Pats, which will be our SB/Playoff game.BlameItOnTheHenne likes this. -
Until we address the WR Corps and get a legit #1 receiver, I cant predict this team to have a winning record.

Obviously winning or being in the running for Coach of the Year doesn't prove how good of a coach you are.steveincolorado likes this. -
7-9 we will win one-two big games and lose 2-3 against bad teams
-
5-11 to 8-8. I've predicted 9-7/10-6 the past 3 seasons...done with that. Last time I had low expectations they went 11-5, but everything fell into place. Doubt something like that happens again.

just good enough to not be bad enough...the usual
