Yea, I read this in the book Perfect Season: Inside the Miamis Dolphins 1972 season by Mike Freeman. I recommend it to everyone here. They were apparently good friends before he became president. He got calls before the game and he told Shula to throw the ball to Warfield on a certain route.

I actually said this before I read the link. Then I see HST refer to him as scum too, so I'm in good company. I was actually thinking good riddance to bad rubbish when I heard he died, and then they show his funeral on TV, and you see teen age girls who couldn't have been more than infants when he was in office, crying their eyes out as his procession passed. Go figure. I would not be one bit surprised if he had a hand in the murder of JFK.

 

If Shula was friends with Dick Nixon, that does not speak well to the character of Shula.

 

Nixson should have sold recording devices, after he left the White House. He would have been a great spokesmen for Radio Shack.

 

oh come now MR Clean any president that would root for miami is no enemy of mine for isntance I bet Obama would try to destroy the dolphins . ie such as sugesting that we run the wildcat on every play.

seriously Nixon was not one of my favorite presidents but I liked him better then our current president.
