    A while ago, my screen divided itself into thirds. The middle third is foggy but the outside thirds are clear. What is the fix for this? The 'thirds' I'm describing are left, right, and middle, not top, bottom, and middle, if that makes a difference.

    If it matters, it is a laptop, HP with Windows 7 and intel CORE.

    How old is the laptop? It sounds like your backlighting may be dying.

    Is this still a live issue?

    Definitely sounds like the screen is going bad.
    Can you take a photo of it and post it?
