We use a gas stove and had to have our tanks replenished recently. For some reason one, and only one of the burners, shoots flame up very high. We hadn't had the issue before getting gas.

i had to.

If the hose was damaged, we would have trouble getting flame, I would think. The holes may have become clogged since we had to wait about a friggin' month to get replenished.

Although not considered normal, uneven heat with your gas grill could be caused by a blockage in the burner venturi tubes. It is possible for small insects or debris to get inside the venturi tubes of the burner. Any blockage inside these tubes could cause uneven heat.Miamian likes this. -
What sometimes happens is that a kink or defect in the hose sometimes causes a back flow in the propane and you can get an uneven flame because the first burners are getting a burst while the others are starved.
it is the same principle as a lighter that is flickering and then all of a sudden gives off a big flame.Miamian likes this.
