Yeah, definitely would not have wanted to miss out on next years John Jerry/Patrick Turner/Lorenzo Booker/Derek Hagen/etc. But seriously, very glad that the trigger wasn't pulled on this one. I'd rather keep Devlin in that 3rd position and see how he develops.
I'm also glad we didn't take him. Just seems like WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much baggage there. Besides, even if Henne shines this year and proves he has what it takes to be an NFL QB, I want Miami to make a serious move next year and draft Landry Jones out of OU. I saw him play in the Sun Bowl and he really has the potential to be the best QB coming out of the draft next year.
Thank God we can count on the Raider organization being one of the few that are willing to make even more absurd investments than we are. We owe the Raiders one. Thanks Al!
