First let me say I don't think his injury is too serious well not enough to keep him out for the rest of the year. With that said would the FO take a chance on Larry Johnson? Ricky Williams is rejuvenated but I don't think he can carry the load by himself. We have Hilliard and Sheets but neither of them are the talent of LJ. I understand LJ is a headcase but it would be some what a fresh start and perhaps trade bait in the offseason. Thoughts?
I think LJ is done. Even if he was productive here no one would trade anything for him. Backs just aren't the same after 400+ carry years.
Very true but he is still better than Hilliard and Sheets. He is bound to get a 2nd chance somewhere were now entering the part of the season when the length of these games are catching up to these players.
Clayton mentioned it as a possibility, along with Atlanta (think Turner got dinged up, and Norwood is out for the year) and he mentioned another as well. *edit* And I personally think it would be a terrible idea, even if Ronnie is out for the season. i dont have a problem with larry johnson. he's good for the rest of the year if we need him. personally i would be fine with sheets and hilliard getting more time. i think hilliard will be fine and if sheets is in shape i think he might surprise
I used to like Johnson in his hay-day and at that time, the guy was pretty much un-stopable. Looking back on it now, I think that alot of his success could have been down to the strong O-Line the Chiefs had at the time. When the Chiefs began to re-build the O-Line, Johnson's form dipped dramatically and then began to suffer injuries. Whats telling to me though is that if you compare both Johnson and Charles to how they played against the Raiders this season, you will see just how much Johnson has declined. In 24 carries, Johnson only rushed for 78 yards. While in 18 carries, Charles rushed for 103. Keep in mind this is against a poor Oakland rush defense and an average back like Charles performed far better than Johnson did, with the same O-Line. Going by that comparison, I really would ask the question is Johnson at this point of his career even any better than Sheets, let along Hilliard?
Well, to me Hilliard knows the offense and Sheets has some upside so to me we play either of those two over bringing in LJ. Keep in mind though, if Ronnie B has a high ankle sprain, they can take a month or more to heal, like last season we need some people to step up.
Considering LJ was 48 yards from becoming the Chiefs all-time leading rusher. I say that because of his production. I doubt Hilliard or Sheets could ever reach what LG has done on a NFL field. Well not like it matters because he is Cincy bound.
The rumor is that LJ will sign with Cincy as early as today. They spoke with him last week before Benson got hurt and now the negotiations have accelerated. He apparently has already spoken with the coaching staff.
You guy know what I want to see? Sheets returning kicks this week, I'd like to see if can stay in bounds on at least half the kicks he returns.
Its for certain....LJ is now in Cincy. Don't have the link but it has been mentioned all over the place.
Well it's so obvious, I can't believe you have to ask. Ginn sucks, and can't do anything right. /sarcasm Posted via Mobile Device
