Purely speculation on my part, however with two young Wr in Ginn and Bess, and with Greg C sidelined until the season, what are the chances we sign Terry Glenn to a one year deal to fill in until Greg C is healthy enough to play?
Last spring he had a bad knee, it's been a year, and we could use a Veteran Wr to provide both leadership and a ready target for Pennington, and he is 35 so if he played, he wouldn't break the bank.

No thanks. I would rather us just draft one. Or do what we did when we got devon Bess try an undrafted free agent out. We are trying to rebuild and get younger. A 35 yearold wide reciver does not fit the script.
-
We need someone who can play the #1 or #2 or even #3, we are thin at Wr, why spend a pick when we could sign a Wr ready to play?
And he raced Ginn and another ex OSU Wr last year in the 100 yd dash and showed more wheels then you'd think, he beat Ginn in the 40..Ginn took the 100.. -
Maybe Alen, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see him show up in Training Camp one way or another, the Cowboys wanted to resign him or have him take a health related paycut, so they didn't think he was done but they were cautious.
-
Parcell's maintains contact with his fmr players Alen, remember he told Polite he was going to sign him, and Lusaka turned down better money from the Eagles to sign here, so in that sense it wouldn't surprise me a bit.
Especially if we don't draft a Wr with a high pick this time around. -

Greg C was Pennington's go to guy until he was injured, who on our Wr corps is going to replace that ability to quickly beat the press, and to get themselves open for a pass?
It has taken Ted Ginn 2 seasons just to be "pretty good", now a rookie draft pick is going to save the passing game? -
As for TJ...could be, but head to head, the FO and Staff would have more reliance on a Glenn who they know, over TJ who they don't know. -
If he's done, they cut him, no harm, no foul. -
No thanks to Glenn... Lets draft somebody, or pick up a free agent. Glenn is done IMO.

Glenn has had a year to rehab, he's a hard working type of Wr and we need a Nat Moore type to hedge our bet on Devone, and to be frank, if Glenn was d-o-n-e the Cowpokes wouldn't have offered him a contract last season.
That is where the proof is in the pudding, the Cowpokes know Glenn's health record better then anyone of us could know it, and they offered him a deal. -

I would have absolutely no problem with bringing Glenn in for a look see. For that matter I wouldn't care if they gave my neighbor a try out - he's in his fifties. It doesn't really matter..
Whether its Glenn or my neighbor; if he can't play, he won't be on the team. But if he can, then we just got a vet WR. If his knees are healed then Glenn is a better option than a guy like Hagen who can't hold onto the ball. Going younger is meaningless if it's just for the sake of getting younger -
I think Terry Glenns career may be over

I don't think we bring Glenn in for the reasons already mentioned. Our WR's weren't that bad last year, I think the one thing that was missing was a big red zone target, which was the role that Wilford was supposed to fill. I'd prefer to look to the draft or bring in a guy like Bryant Johnson.

No to Glenn, but i do hope we sign a Vet WR considering we have nothing but young WRs currently with not much experience. An Amani Toomer would be perfect. or maybe even a Bobby Engram

no... not worth it when you're trying to get these kids playing football... trying to build a team unity. and then you bring and old declining vet that haven't played really for long time, for a decent amount of money, to try and take over some WR spots that you are trying to bring along with development and experience.... not what i want to put the kids through at all.
-
I'm not saying Terry Glenn is the answer. Quite frankly I have my doubts. But if it's a low-risk option that could pay off handsomely, you have to take a look. We have Ginn, we have Bess. Camirillo is a question mark until he proves himself healthy and back to the same level he was. London has upside, but is still raw. That's not a lot to hang your hat on. -
I could see parcells bringing in Keyshawn before Glenn. But i don't see either coming in.

log jam, or a great battle at the WR position??? bring in a possible Barden for size and red zone help, great hands... then we got a bunch of different types of WR's for different situations... it fits together in time, in practice. we have some talent, jsut need to improve that talent.
Glenn is old, what is he really going to be around for? he'll only take time away from our kids experience on the field, and its not gonna be a great mental thang for the WR's seeing this old guy getting paid more than them playing for a year or so, and then gonna be gone anyways afterwards.
almost a thanks for nothing... i want Superbowl, not washed up old WR's.

3 wr's dress for the game, 2 will be Ginn and Bess, do you really want to put a rook in?
A Qb needs a Wr who can get open, Glenn can do that much.:wink2:
