Keep the Thanksgiving games but make sure the teams that play are coming off a bye week. Either way the league needs to stop having teams play a brutally physically sport with just a couple days of rest. The players hate it, the coaches hate it, and I really don't think the fans would miss it.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind Thursday night games if both teams are coming off a bye. But as they are now, I can't say I disagree.
The games are almost always trash. Only way Thursday night games should occur is if both teams are coming off bye weeks.
Thursday night football needs to go away. The league claims to care about player safety and how its their number one priority. How much of a priority is it when they have teams playing just 96 hours after playing. I'm glad Tua is alright but I would hope that as horrific and terrifying as it appeared that the league abolishes Thursday night games once and for all.
I rarely watch Thursday night games due to them being garbage. The amount of mistakes teams make due to the short week/travelling/no rest etc just makes them hard to watch. Just look at the number of miscues last night for both teams, it was a tough watch. Even if we had managed to sneak a win I would still be saying the same thing.
Money Money Money. They've had the Thanksgiving games for awhile. In a perfect world they'd time the Thursday game to come after a bye. So kind of a double bye. But I'm sure that would be tough to schedule. They also wouldn't get a game every week.
Also putting the 17 and later 18 game expansion in question. The sport is just too violent to be playing so many games and on short rest. Also, they probably need to bring those practice helmets to the actual games. They do look kind of goofy, but if they work then there is no real excuse.
