I think Shanahan would love him. He fits the mobile/strong arm prototype he had in Elway, drafted in Cutler and traded for in McNabb. Locker and Newton also fit that prototype, far more than say a Ryan Mallett does.
Damn I hope Luck declares and Blaine gets passed by Newton in the draft process. I really want Gabbert
I'm close to wanting Gabbert over Luck. IMO Gab has better potential of becoming a top 5 QB where as Luck will be the better game manager who makes less errors. How about trading Henne, Carey, and next year's 1st and 2nd to Arizona?...... then trade this year's 1st back to recoup the lost 2nd.
I dont think the value is there for the Cowboys... Unless you remind them that you would be kicking the redskins in the nuts and taking away their franchise QB...
That may not be as funny as it appears , all things being equal , sure Jerry would love to keep Washington QB less... of course the offer would have to be fair.
The question I would have is, do the Cowboys really want to sign a Top 10 draft pick when they can slide down to 15, pick up something they need like a Safety and pay him less and pick up a spare pick. Dallas doesn't look to be in the market for anything that's in the Top 10 picks, so it would be a good trade down scenario for them, picking up picks to fill their holes.
Not sure of the logistics , but a player such as MCD should make a big differance , he would definitely not be a "throw in " they have shown they can find common ground for trade values , maybe the player pipeline flows to Dallas instead of the other way this time?
Agreed, but you have to give to get. DE is the Dolphins deepest position and with McDaniel coming on like he did this year he's going to want a big payday. IMO, if there's a CBA by the draft and the Dolphins do make an attempt to move up either McDaniel or Starks are your best options.
Totally agree and glad you mentioned Starks. Right now I think I would part with Starks , have to see how the salary thing shakes out , but Starks is very very very young for his experience. I think he was 19 when drafted? maybe 20 but n older , I think he just turned 27....could be his prime. I would certainly trade from a strength such as that.
A scouting review of Gabbert by a Seahawk sight. The mock is decent with good comments imo. http://seahawksdraftblog.com/?p=1000
We'll see. QBs always seem to be mocked a little high early on. There are a lot of QB needy teams though.
