I hope that Woodson or Colt is there when we pick with our 2nd B pick i would love to have one of them
I believe Brennan will be there not so sure about Woodson. If either are there at the 2b, I think it's hard to pass them up.
so your saying cleo lemon is as good as jake plummer ? yeah... i think you might be right ...because trent green won't be here (scrambled eggs)37 -38 years old etc. lemon won a lot of games for us yup we should bring him back. " hey i like your strategy" if we keep lemon as the starter for a few years we will have enough talent through the draft to be comptetive .
I think we should start Beck, get rid of Lemon and Green and bring in a veteran, maybe Volek?....I also think that we should probably draft a QB but in the later rounds....always good to bring in a guy that could develop....look at what happen with Brady....not saying we're gonna find another Brady in the 6th round but we could find a solid player late. Ozzy rules!!
Frankly, I don't see any quick answers off the list that you have the are significantly better that what we have. I would be sick if we give up draft choices for yet another QB. For those Anderson supporters, I definitely do not blame you. However, you should take a close look at his stats for the entire season. He was far more successful in his first 8 games vs his last 7. Take a look at the splits on ESPN: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/splits?playerId=8627 Anderson has gotten significantly worse in the second half, likely the result of NFL defenses adjusting to a guy that did not know very well early on in the season. Let's also remember he has a pretty good O-line which includes a drastically improved run game. He also has two Pro Bowlers in Edwards and Winslow in which to throw. If we think he comes to this team with Ginn and Martin and throws 30 TD's, I fear we will all me incredibly disappointed. So there is no easy answers. My vote would be to see would Beck and compete with Green if he can play as a player coach type (we're paying him anyway), draft a first day QB, and resign Lemon for backup money (if he wants more show him the door). We need to learn our lesson that good QB's can not be taken off the scrap heap. They are there for a reason!!
I don't know about starting Beck yet, but I think Lemon has had plenty of games to show his stuff. Its all on tape and you know that every play will be scrutinized. I don't think Parcells usually plays rookie QB's or 2nd year guys either. He usually prefers veteren, experienced guys. It would be great if Beck proved himself in next year's training camp and won the job outright, but I don't know if that is realistic.
Does "leave the gun, take the cannoli" mean anything to you all. Hand J. Beck the reigns and forget all these other team QBs. Use the upcoming draft to build
We better all brace ourselves for Chadwick. Hope there are no strong breezes during the games next year.
FINALLY. i just started reading this thread, had to go through 5 pages of lot of hope and nonsense till someone finally said it. the guy has joe thomas, winslow, and edwards, plus lewis who has been playing great lately. he wouldnt have that success here and is not worth the 1st rounder(or more) we would have to give up to get him also mcnabb??? come on, he'd take a 1st or more too. arent yall tired of other team's trash? also with the draft. people talking about taking woodson with our 2B. sorry, that guy wont be there at our 2A. he is a first rounder going to bears or ravens. im really hoping we keep green and beck and add flacco with our 3rd or 2B if needed
Actually I think you've got that reversed. Ryan throws a better deep ball, but Brohm is way more polished as a passer. Injuries are not a concern either. He had a torn ACL 2 years ago, but that's an injury that can strike any player at any time. He had a freak thumb injury after a D-lineman from the "U" stepped on his hand last year that required a minor surgery, but he returned 2 WEEKS early from it. Fast healer. This year he played without injury and was hit more times this year than all of his first 3 years COMBINED. He's a system QB you say? No not really. Petrino's system was a run first, pro-style offense. Kragthorpe's offense is a pass first system, but mixes formations between shotgun and under center. Matt Ryan is pretty careless with the football. He's not as accurate, throwing more interceptions and has fumbleitis. I don't want Andre Woodson either. His mechanics are way too slow and he also suffers from fumbleitis. Woodson needs a perfect pocket or else a sack or a bad decision will result. Brennan is a big mystery. I don't like college QBs that play almost exclusively in the shotgun. Getting them under center for snaps can prove difficult. Look at Alex Smith on the 49ers. Plus the competion he's faced in college is very, very suspect. His bowl game this year will be very telling and will impact his draft status alot. Just my 2 cents worth on the big college QBs.
